All-Decade draft

With this decade soon to be over, as well as the conclusion of the All-Time draft on this forum, why not hold an All-Decade draft where we can select players who've played in this decade? We can hold a double snake draft in case people are worried about a much shallower talent pool.

Perhaps next summer.  These drafts are a lot of work so they aren't held very often.  We did have an annual draft for awhile of this nature for awhile, so it may be something to consider next summer sometime.  I think last time after we had the all time draft, we did have some decade ranges, so your idea might work, at one point we talked about making it more complicated, like no top 5 picks (from the actual draft), but that never got off the ground.

I'm fine with next summer, I should be free assuming that it's early summer (June or so) than late August. And I'd say a double snake draft would be a good enough solution for the lack of depth in the talent pool.

I remember they did one before several years back, and I wasn't able to join. I'm hoping they do one again and be able to play. Looking at that thread, I thought it was fun. And it doesn't have to be soccer. Maybe an all-decade MLB, NHL? NFL might be tricky with the amount of players you have to pick.

I don't think you guys know just how much work, time and aggravation it takes to run and moderate a game like this, and this was a fairly tame and small endeavor.

There is no way another one is happening until the Celtics are eliminated from the playoffs next year.

I mean, I'm fairly new to football myself, so my knowledge is not as deep. But this could be fun. I hope it happens.

Yeah, doing multiple in one off-season (not to mention it's already almost mid-September) is pretty crazy. I'd be happy to help out in terms of commissioner duties next time around as much as the timezone differences allow me. Not sure how helpful that is though

I think in the latter years of the original Celticsblog Draft, we ended up having two moderators handle the draft because of all the work.   There's a lot of behind the scenes stuff and, personally speaking, its a ton of work to make it run.

I'd be down for participating or running it, just need enough people to be interested in it lol.
