Title: Best April fools jokes/pranks
Post by: JSD on April 01, 2009, 10:20:23 AM
Alright I'll start:

A colleague of mine was working security at a corporation today when a big time executive came in and said "excuse me... this is a little embarrassing but... there is a gentleman in the woods out just beyond the parking lot naked!" The officer immediately went through all the proper procedure, phoning it in to control and was about to call the police when the executive started laughing his ass off. I thought it was pretty funny, and it was good to hear a high ranking executive for a major cooperation still has a sense of humor.

Anyone else have any good ones?

Last year my girlfriend (of 2 years at the time) went way out of her way to pretend to be pregnant.

This year my girlfriend (of 3 years) just might get a fake proposal. I already have a ring box, which I will stuff with movie tickets. I just need to get up the courage.

Wow, the fake proposal would be pretty ballsy!

Im a firm believer in the second golden rule of never, ever, ever, hit a girl...but am I allowed to taser her in the event of a full on homicidal meltdown? That is the question Im asking myself before I do this.

I just asked my 4 year old to tell my wife that she'd pooped her pants (she's been potty trained for a couple of years now).  She didn't like that idea, so she decided to trick Momma by telling her she'd lost her water bottle.  I'll have to work on her a bit.

Fortuitously, I just found this awful doll that wife and I would hide on each other.  It's one of those stupid peekaboo dolls.  Someone gave one to our daughter and it totally creeped us out.  So a couple of years ago we decided to give it away.  Instead I drew big dark rings around its eyes so that it looked like the kid who lives above the closet in that creepy movie that I can't think of the name of.  I hung it upside down in our closet and scared the crap out of her.

Sooooooooo...it's been hiding in an unused refrigerator in our barn for at least a year now.  I think I could safely scare the crap out of her again without he suspecting a thing.

That's my plan.

No matter how well you think you might know her, I think a whole different set of rules revolve around the whole engagement thing.  You might want to wait on that one until you actually want to propose to her - then you could give her the fake one, get the reaction, then come back with the real one.

Quote
1994: An article by John Dvorak in PC Computing magazine described a bill going through Congress that would make it illegal to use the internet while drunk, or to discuss sexual matters over a public network. The bill was supposedly numbered 040194 (i.e. 04/01/94), and the contact person was listed as Lirpa Sloof (April Fools backwards). The article said that the FBI was going to use the bill to tap the phone line of anyone who "uses or abuses alcohol" while accessing the internet. Passage of the bill was felt to be certain because "Who wants to come out and support drunkenness and computer sex?" The article offered this explanation for the origin of the bill: "The moniker 'Information Highway' itself seems to be responsible for SB 040194... I know how silly this sounds, but Congress apparently thinks being drunk on a highway is bad no matter what kind of highway it is." The article generated so many outraged phone calls to Congress that Senator Edward Kennedy's office had to release an official denial of the rumor that he was a sponsor of the bill.

This was my favorite prank... In college, we put an inordinate amount of time in researching pranks. My friend read about this once in a journalism class, and he and I decided to get one of our housemates. The original friend was work study in the campus police office, so he got a couple officers to help us out. Two officers knocked on my housemate's door, and told him they were arresting him for using the Internet while intoxicated (an IWI), or "Drunk driving on the information highway." My friend thought it was ridiculous, and started talking back to the officers, until they pulled out the April Fool's magazine article saying it was now illegal. After he saw the article he started panicking and talking really fast. One of the officers, perhaps the quickest on his feet police officer I've ever known, started listing off the offenses my friend was committing while he talked back, including "insubordination" and "disobeying a police officer"... He got to "resisting arrest" before my friend just collapsed into his chair, convinced his college career was over. He just offered up his hands and said "Alright, cuff me." At that point my friend and I burst into the room, dying laughing, and the cops started laughing too. It worked better then we could have hoped for. If I ever meet John Dvorak of PC Computing Magazine, I'm buying him a beer.

I've always been partial to the Chicken Soup Shower.

Simply remove the shower head, fill it with chicken bullion powder, and replace it.

Stand by while your significant other heads in for a long hot shower, and wait for the aroma to emerge and hilarity to ensue.

That's what I am planning on doing with my parents tonight.  Today is also my dad's birthday and we're going to dinner, so I am planning on telling my parents that I have proposed to my girlfriend and we are getting married.  It will be interesting to see the reaction.  I already sent a facebook message out to a bunch of my friends with the same thing and I got a couple of people, although some people spoiled it.  The funniest is my girlfriend receiving a phone call from our friend in Turkey congratulating her, and she had no idea why.

Im not doin it. Im too scared. She's an aggressive woman and we've been dating for over 3 years and she's said she is VERY receptive to getting married. So really, first she will cry, then she will um...well she will break things. So yeah I decided its a little too mean, and Im a little too scared.

Wait wait wait. Are you trying to break up with her or severely test her to see if you can go through life with her?

I'm pretty sure they made this prank internationally illegal in 1967 and that it is the only incident that women can stone men for in like 30 cultures.

Here we celebrate inocent day on november, something like aprils fool

Best prank was calling a friend of mine asking for help because there were some gang members after my bones, and that i was driving and then run inside a mall, and they were armed and trying to get me.
He run out his house and get into the mall, looks for me running with his brother
looking for my corpse.
I guide him via phone to a local bar and we ( like 4 more friends) laugh histerically at them and invite those two a couple of beers for being soo good friends and be ready to participate in a fight against gang members for yurstruly.

I planted the doll in her car hanging upside down into the gas pedal area.  I had a machete that I was going have it hold, but I thought with my luck she wouldn't see it and cut her foot off or something.  Anyhow...it scared her....mission accomplished

Due to scheduling I usually take the boy to day care. This morn I asked my wife to do it like 2 minutes before she was going to leave. It really p---ed her off. I got her good. Upon which the boy hit me in the head with the phone and laughed at me so I guess he got me back.
