There was a bit of reminiscing going on in the "don't care about the draft" thread, so I thought I'd start one for your favorite memories, lasting impressions, or just oddball random moments from drafts past.

The Ewing pick in NY was pretty huge.  The random switching of hats when a guy gets drafted then traded minutes later (Steve Francis comes to mind).

...and of course:

'93 Draft.

Came home from a little league game or practice (can't remind which) to watch the draft.  I remember being thrilled about the thought of a Shaq/Webber frontcourt in Orlando and how peeved I was when Orlando drafted and then traded Webber right away to Golden State for Penny.

I was a huge Fab Five fan and a big Shaq fan so the idea of Webber & Shaq together had this 12 year old giddy at the time.

I still remember where I was when the Celtics drafted Eric Montross in 1994. I was beside myself, and not even entirely past the Acie Earl pick the year before.

'95 Draft.

I was at BC Football Camp and watched the draft in Walsh Hall where they were putting up all the campers.

Was actually pretty thrilled when we got Eric Williams.

I remember being upset with the Eric Williams pick because I wanted Lue Roe.

I was also upset with the Chauncey Billups pick because it meant less PT for Dana Barros.

This one was pretty special, back when the draft had a lot more rounds:

Quote
Boston Celtics, June 29, 1982.
Indiana's Landon Turner was paralyzed in a car accident just prior to the 1982 draft, a few months after his team won the NCAA title. As a favor to Indiana coach Bobby Knight (who started a fund that raised 400,000 to defray Turner's medical expenses), and to lift Turner's spirits, Celtics GM Red Auerbach drafted him in the 10th round. In 1989, Turner received the Coors Light US Basketball Writers Association's Most Courageous Award after returning to the court with a wheelchair basketball team. Today he is a motivational speaker in Indianapolis.

I will never say a bad thing about Lou Roe.

One of my all-time favorite college basketball players.

'98 Draft.

I remember a hot, summer day played pickup basketball at the courts down the street from me with a bunch of buddies.  We had a radio boombox with us and flipped it over to the draft.

Pierce started dropping and I remember thinking there's no way he'll fall to us at #10.  I think it was around pick #6 when Dallas took Traylor that I started to seriously envision a scenario of Pierce falling to us.

I just remember being ecstatic and a sense of "How the heck did he fall that far?" when the Celtics drafted him.    We all went nuts.

One of the only things I'll remember from this draft is how mad Jay Bilas was when some no name kid got drafted late and he was like "Yeah I didn't have him in my top 90 but great. No really. Great for him"

I was like "woah".  I wonder if something happened before that to put him in a bad mood.

If I'm the kid I'm like "I'll just try to put my whole career into trying to make Mr. Bilas happy"

Beside yourself in a good or bad way? Also I love your avatar.

2006: Enraged beyond all belief when we got Telfair. I had just warmed up to the idea of drafting Roy that morning.

2007: Almost broke my TV... Hated the trade for Ray Allen at the time.

Edit: and in 2005 I specifically remember jumping up and down in joy when it went past pick 16 and ESPN went to commercial. I was really excited for Danny Granger first, and then Gerald Green. We all know how that ended.
