Can't really argue with this at all.

Gobert winning DPOY is a head-scratcher though. Thought it was PG for sure

Emotional speech. I guess 10 years ago he was selling trinkets on the streets of Athens to help his family, he's come a long way.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

He deserved it. He's worked his butt off from his rookie year to get where he is.

Oh yeah, I just though PG should have won it. NBA has a very European vibe this awards round which is cool though

There's only one true MVP and his name is Kawhi Leonard first of his name King of the NBA we all bow down to his greatness of the 2019 NBA Playoffs.

As far as I'm concerned if the Raptors keep Kawhi between him and Siakam... Dam just dam that's a ****ing amazing duo Raptors could become a dynasty.

Scalabrine this morning was talking about that and he was fine with Gobert.  Says he is by far the most impactful defender in the league.  Also said he would have had Giannis 2nd given his versatility and tenacity.  Recognized that George gets a lot of defensive stats, but thinks overall he was correctly placed 3rd given overall defensive impact.

Also, Giannis and George finishing in the top 3 for both is pretty darn rare.  Many years 1 person does it (some even win both), but rare to have a season with 2 such players (even going to top 5 it is still pretty darn rare).  The last time it happened was 08-09 when Lebron and Wade did it.

A center who gets exploited in today's NBA game should not win a DPOY award. They must have the versatility to defend the perimeter these days.

It's interesting that Marcus Smart and Kawhi Leonard were not DPOY top 3 candidates.  Also, Paul George over Kawhi for the third place MVP vote?  Seems odd to me, given what his and George's teams accomplished (even in the regular season only).

Kawhi missed quarter of the reg. season and raptors didn't seem to miss him.

PG played 77 games

Leonard didn't play that great during the regular season and missed a lot of games.

Seems like you have a couple of stars who are just coasting through the regular season and then turn it up a level during the post-season, examples: James, Leonard, Durant (these guys didn't win MVP lately, but have won multiple Finals MVP's)

And you have guys like Harden and Westbrook who give it all every night, won MVP's, but never been the best player in the playoffs.

Leonard Durant and Lebron know the only trophy that matters is the Larry O'Brien, regular season is practice.
