Predictable and very well deserved. He was outstanding in the first 5 months. Underwhelming for the rest of the year, but his last season was, as you put it, "for the ages". I'll be very surprised if next week he doesn't win the FIFA Player of the Year award as well. I'd still pick Kaka and Messi ahead of him if I was building a team now though.
In a sense, I like the Michael Jordan comparison. Not as in Ronaldo being the greatest of all times, he's not as good as Pelé and Maradona were and he'll never be. But as an unique, and somewhat unprecedented, combination of high levels of athleticism, flair, technique, scoring ability, mental toughness and attitude, it makes sense.
