I went Walker, Tatum, Smart.

I think Walker and Tatum should be locks, Smart has come into a situation where the final two spots are up for grabs. There aren't too many shooting guards in camp so he has a shot as the utility guard on the team.

Brown could have a shout if they were looking for someone more explosive but I think they'll go for Smart to build intensity in the scrimmages.

Edit: Just read you guys saying Lowry might pull out which makes Smart the 4th guard. Still don't think that brings Brown onto the roster but he's one step closer

Poirier is on the French roster.

It is also expected (if it hasn’t been announced and I just couldn’t find it) that Theis will be on the German roster.

TP, thanks, I should have specified USA in the poll.

I think Ojeleye was originally on the training camp roster for Nigeria, did he decide to play?
Semi was born in Kansas and went to SMU.

Still expected to play according to some. Probably due to his Nigerian heritage.

If Andray Blatche can play for the Philippines I have no issues with Semi playing for Nigeria, a place he actually has family ties to

I think Kemba/Tatum are locks. I expect all four to make it myself, but I think Smart is picked first over Brown.

I'm pretty sure Tatum and Kemba will.  Smart is just there as a practice guy.

New Orleans Pelicans guard JJ Redick is considering an invitation to join the depleted USA Basketball roster for the FIBA World Cup in September, he told ESPN on Thursday.

Redick, who spent the past two seasons in Philadelphia, said he is eager to be a part of USA Basketball's training camp, tour and World Cup in China, but he said he's weighing his family's offseason transition to a new city in his decision to make the six-week offseason commitment.

"I'm thrilled beyond belief to be considered but also trying to work through our family's transition to New Orleans," Redick told ESPN.

These declines are a joke. Respect to the 4 Celtics who remain committed.

Why? If they don't want to do it, where is the problem?
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Yeah. I actually don't really even want our guys to play. It's a different game, players have different roles, there's injury risk...I mean, how many guys have "broken out" in an international team competition and went on to greater success in the NBA?

I think that the EuroCup two summers ago was really positive for Luka Doncic.

Overall I get what you’re saying, but if we can have four Celtics on the team, including Kemba, I think that will really help establish some of the chemistry that was missing last season (especially if they win).  Furthermore, it seems a lot of long-term NBA relationships are forged at USA Basketball.  These relationships matter in free agency, and while this year’s roster isn’t star-studded, good showings from some of our guys could get them on the Olympic roster next year, which could pay long-term dividends in convincing major talent to come to Boston.

This is something that I hadn't even thought of.  Yeah it might be a little kick start to resetting the culture and relationships between 4 of our main guys.  tp!
