How do we want to deal with injured players that may miss this upcoming season?
It's a tough question. I think it's all up to personal preference. There are quite a few good players with injuries going into this season, sadly.
I think GMs should be allowed to draft injured players, and there are only two guys that I can think of who may miss the entire season.
In one of the previous Historical Drafts I selected Grant Hill from 99-00. That's the year when his ankle issues started to really come into play, but only during the playoffs of that season. I was of the opinion that it didn't really matter, and that we should be looking at his form of the season and transplanting it to now. Some disagreed with me, but that was my philosophy regarding players who got injured during their seasons.
But this is not a Historical Draft. Players who are set to miss time will probably have that held against them by GMs, especially if they're looking at a whole season on the sidelines. I won't value injuries too highly that were recovered from in the season, or were relatively minor, given so many star players got hurt at some stage this season. But I think it will be hard to argue that a team with a player out the whole season (assuming it's a key player) will win.
