Title: "Must watch" teams?
Post by: Boris Badenov on November 16, 2017, 01:48:24 AM
I'm realizing that after all that hoopla about how the West got stronger, nearly all my "must watch" (or maybe, "will not change channel") teams this year are in the East. Probably because I think most of the really exciting young players are in the East (Embiid, Simmons, Giannis, Porzingis, etc.).

Here's my list:
Boston
Philly
Milwaukee
Golden State
New York

(I'm refusing to put LA on the list, even though...they might be.)

What's your list?

My list:

Boston

That is all. And that’s coming from someone who buys the league pass every year. There isn’t a single  team other than the C’s I feel compelled to watch. There are some intriguing matchups I may look to catch, but no team other than Boston since the 2013 Nets.

Looks like we have similar taste, those are my favorites too.
If Kawhi was healthy I'd include;
San Antonio - Kawhi, Gasol, Manu, Pop, Mills shooting, random dude flashing greatness

I gotta be honest and say that I push myself to watch some teams, just in the case someone doesn't slip under my radar. Especially rookies.

Our very own Boston Celtics; you don't see elite defensive teams winning this much in the pace and space era anymore.

Boston.

Lakers FOR THE DRAFT PICK REASONS. And because I enjoy watching them squirm and lose and dissing the LA fans that I have to put up with everyday lol.

But honestly, I just spend all of my time watching Celtics games.

Speaking of the West, I'm interested to see how Houston will do once CP3 returns (some reports say it will be today) and whether the Clippers will recover their form.

But yes, I think the media paid too much attention when stars moved from East to West. The East still has good teams.

Celtics!

The rest of league I don't care for, they are just foes for us to beat up on!

Celtics and only the Celtics.  couldn't care less about any other team and not a fan of the current NBA product.

Boston's games have been must watch just about across the board.

Portland's games are a lot of fun, they're usually close and with Dame and CJ they're never out of it.

Excluding Boston (which should basically be a given in any of these sorts of threads)

Philadelphia - Embiid and Simmons are great and Embiid especially is so much fun.  His enthusiasm is incredible.  Then you have the whole Fultz situation which is fascinating in and of itself.  They are a rising team and look like they could pose real problems for any team in the playoffs (which they look like they will be in rather easily if they stay healthy).

Cleveland - they are just a train wreck right now, but still pose the biggest threat to Boston in the East so keeping an eye on them is both entertaining and necessary

Oklahoma City - I love RW as a player and watching them try to fit him with PG and Melo has been interesting and exciting.  With the 3 game win streak against bad teams, I am curious to see if they have turned the corner.  If they get this right, I think they pose the biggest threat to GS out of any team in the league from a match-up perspective

Milwaukee - Giannis is the next big star.  He is incredible.  They've already made a trade which shakes them up and they still have to figure out working in Parker later in the year providing some more interesting drama

I agree with this. I watch a lot of the NBA, but most of the time it's always tied to Boston somehow. I watch a lot of Cleveland to see how they're progressing, and I watch a lot of the bottom-feeders, especially LA, with our pick in mind.

Outside of that, I like watching the Bucks, Pistons (mostly AB), and Thunder play.

Don't like watching Houston play. Their style drives me nuts.
