Bulls (5-13) at Celtics (13-4) Game #18 11/28/23

I know this is a game thread but the IST aspect seems to have taken over.  So if we don't win by 23 or whatever, and don't win the group or get a wild card into the quarter finals, who will we play for the two games?  Do we play against the other teams that didn't make the quarter finals?  In that these games would count towards our regular season record (as I understand it), isn't it better to not make the quarterfinals and then play lesser teams?  It seems like making the quarterfinals and having to play better/hotter teams is not in the overall interest.

If we lose we’d play a home and away game against two teams that also didn’t make it.  Those teams would likely be ones we’re only scheduled to play 3 times this year (so we don’t get a fifth game against someone).  I don’t know who all those possibilities are, although I’d bet we get the Heat for a game if neither of us advance, because the league still wants good tv matchups for the non-tourney days.

I live on the west coast, but work east coast hours, it's a good gig.  Used to get to watch all the games no problem.

But now I got a toddler daughter who I have to pick up from day care, take care of, play outside with, make dinner for, focus all my attention on etc. while my wife is at work.  And this is all primarily during Celtics games.

For big games (opening night, key matchups like Bucks, Sixers, etc.) I'll ask my wife to come home early if possible so I can watch the game.

This morning when she was getting ready for work, she asks me, "do I need to come home early tonight?"  I quizzical ask her why?

"I thought this was a big game due to the in-season tournament being up for grabs."

i mean i am all for this IF it can get us a first round bye in the playoffs where we opnly have to win 2 rounds to get to finals.

The court thing is an issue, but I don't understand why people have a problem with the tournament. I think it's been a success thus far with the teams certainly competing harder during these games, which is exactly what you want and what it was intended for in the regular season games.
