6+17.  Embiid > 2/1 odds since teams in front of us don't have as many assets (or the cajones) to risk a bust or would have to pass on elite prospects to take him. I'd be thrilled to have the opportunity if team docs give the OK.

Danny likes to trade, so something happens in the summer to thin the herd.

Philly probably has both.

My gut tells me we are stuck with a mediocre team and will be for a while.

That nothing happens

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my
blood would’ve been green.  -  Bill "Greatest of All Time" Russell

i have an ill feeling that we won't get Love (or any impact player) but won't trade Rondo either. I have a feeling we might end up in that weird place again, where we're kind of young but kind of experienced as well, and we end up maybe 10th in the East.

God no. Anything but this. All in or All out!!

If Embiid falls to six - I think you have to take him. Too much upside to risk passing. At three, the risk is too great. But six is the right spot. Unfortunately. I think he will be a bust.

I think Smart falls really far, and the Cs trade up to take him. Smart has not been - ironically - very smart about showcasing his volatility.

If there's a trade, it's Rondo to Sacramento.

Cajones certainly, future assets no; and they'd have to pass on an elite talent in whoever's left at #3.

FWIW, Chad Ford's last mock posted a couple of hours ago:

"There have been rumblings that the Sixers are seriously considering drafting Joel Embiid there. However, from what I can gather, this is likely a smoke screen to entice the Cavs to deal with them. Everyone believes that if the Cavs move down in the draft, it will be to land Embiid. While the Sixers like him, I think they're reluctant to commit to that timetable."

===

Says also Exum is now the heavy favorite, Vonleh a dark horse, and they may trade for 7.

Has us taking Embiid assuming he passes our our medical team and we don't trade.

We trade for Harden to help clear cap space for Melo and LeBron. So random that it must be in the works.

I've been thinking for the last 24hrs other than the Celtics doing " due diligence" it's been awfully quiet. Hmmm??

Think your right on.       Pressure not to take Embiid at 6 th is too much not to..... :-\ Just has historic bust written all over it though.

I'm hoping he is gone before DA picks.   Too many NONE busts to choose from .  I rather take Staukas or Randle and watch them play this year.  Than to wait five years and see three games out of Embiid.
