I want this kid in Boston. He has the heart for the game the drive and obviously the talent. He was snubbed in last years draft even though he was a First Team All-American, because of health concerns ( he played through testicular cancer his senior season) He signed a one year contract to play in Turkey and has progressively gotten better all year while still trying to get back in game shape from dealing with Chemotherapy. He's averaging 20.1 points a game which is 3rd overall in the TBL. But most importantly he is one of the, if not the best, three point shooter I've ever seen. He kind of relies on it too much but when you make 17 out of 22 in a game... why not? Given the opportunity he could thrive here. If not here somewhere else I just wish someone would give him the chance. He's my favorite player and he's a great guy (his hometown is about 30 minutes from mine, he's not too much older than me).

SEC all-time 3 point shooter. Yah, I remember Chris lofton. I still can't believe he played B-Ball knowing he had cancer. I'm positive next season he'll be in an NBA uniform. He offers a scarce skill in NBA SHOOTING.

I would love if Ainge gives him a shot. But I doubt it with JR & Walker waiting for a shot

I don't know I agree it would be a long shot but I remember last year a few people thought even with Chris's poor performance due to cancer, he was above JR. Giddens. I mean now JR has some D League experience but Chris has been a starter all season long in Turkey on a decent team so that also has to do something for him.

The other day he dropped like 48 or 49 points on Semih Erden's team. Then he had that 61 points game. Those are truly impressive numbers for the European game, the leading scorer in the Euroleague averages 18 ppg. I've been promised film of the game versus Fener, I'm curious to watch it. If he stays in Europe, he'll certainly be playing for a better team next season, he may become the next Langdon. Not so sure about his NBA chances though, he lacks athleticism, he can't run an offence and he very rarely passes the ball. Anyway, if guys like House and Gibson have a place in the league, why not him?

An European based PG the C's should give a look at if House for some reason leaves the club, before or during the season, is Terrell McIntyre. Undersized, but a pesky defender, a great shooter and scorer and a very mature player (perhaps the best player in Europe this season).

You said you've been promised film of the game versus Fener... Is there anyway you could get me a copy of that?!?! I've not been able to see Chris in game action since the summer league when he was with the Denver Nuggets team.  I would be so thankful if you could.

I was a big fan of Lofton in college, had he not gotten sick, he would have been a 2nd round pick.  He's in the mold of Eddie House, JJ Reddick, etc etc.  He's a shooter, and a lights out one at that.  I'd give him a run in the summer, see how he does against NBA guys, see if he can play an Eddie House styled game.
do it

Being a UT guy myself (just my freshman year) Chris Lofton offers something special. But I just don't see him here (with Celtics) next season. Our roster is a mess (Thanks Mr. Ainge). We have TA & House (One dimensional players) Walker & Giddens (got game just not ready) Scal (good guy just not worth his contract).

Before we can sign FA this upcoming season, we have to sort out our current roster first. Still no matter what I'll always root for Chris.

He is about the same height as Eddie House and I believe even now he would be a much more consistent shooter off the bench for us.

Yeah our roster is pretty much a giant CF right now. Who knows hopefully something may fall into place for Chris, he's been through so much he really deserves it. And ditto, I'll always be pulling for Chris.

If anyone has any access to game footage of Chris from turkey, or knows where I could find it please let me know! Any info is greatly appreciated.

While the health concerns might have been an issue, a bigger reason he was snubbed was because he is a shooting guard in an undersized PG's body.

I was a huge fan of his in college, but there were huge questions of whether he had the physical tools to make it in the NBA.

While he was a very good 3 point shooter in college, I find it hard to believe he would be better than House, who is the best percentage 3 point shooter in the history of the team.  Lofton is also missing the lighting quick release which makes House so deadly.

I think Lofton could find a place in the league, in a role similar to House, but I think you are overrating him.

While he doesn't have the quick release of house he needs much less space to get off a good shot, which is almost insane because House needs little to no space. And I mean what is house? An undersized shooting guard in a point guards body. I may be overrating him, but, he has yet to disappoint me.

Until he plays in the NBA, its impossible to know how much room he needs to get shots off.

And as far as House, there is a very thin line the differentiates Eddie House from JR Bremer.  Lofton is right on that line as well.  Its tough to say which side he falls on.

There is one major thing that I think would give Lofton the edge over Eddie:  he's a decent ballhandler.  He can and will slash if given the opportunity, and even with his only-decent athleticism and first step he can make it work because defenders have to get in his grill to keep him from shooting.

Obviously, Eddie is a proven success in the NBA while Lofton has only torched Turkey.  Still, I think Lofton is an NBA player, hopefully sooner rather than later - like others here before me, I'm a huge fan of Chris Lofton.
