I think LSU again ends Clark's season.

I wonder where the TV rating ends up falling for this game tonight.  I think its going to get a monster rating.

Clark is having a monster game while Reese hasn't been very good (at least offensively, she is cleaning up on the glass).  Difference in game thus far.

Caitlin Clark:

40 points tonight… She’s too good. Never mind the shooting, Clarks passing, dribbling skills and BBIQ is just on another level. She is going to be the Steph Curry of the WNBA.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I'm curious about the rating too. But last night was the first time I opted out of Celtics game for another one and it lived up to the hype - so did the USC/UConn matchup. Paige Bueckers is the best all around player in the tournament.

Pretty cool, particularly for an Elite Eight game.

It also was the most bet women's basketball game which drives viewership.

I was going to say that the viewership record might not last long with Iowa and Uconn playing in the semis but I see they are playing on Friday night which will curtail the viewers.

After all the good vibes following the LSU-Iowa game, some folks had to find something negative about it.

Quote
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry urged state officials to enact a policy that requires student-athletes to be present for the national anthem after the LSU women’s basketball team received harsh backlash for missing the national anthem before its regional final game against Iowa Monday night.

The Republican governor became the latest figure to call out the Tigers for being noticeably absent during the national anthem.

"My mother coached women’s high school basketball during the height of desegregation, no one has a greater respect for the sport and for Coach [Kim] Mulkey," Landry wrote in a post on X.

"However, above respect for that game is a deeper respect for those that serve to protect us and unite us under one flag!

"It is time that all college boards, including Regent, put a policy in place that student athletes be present for the national anthem or risk their athletic scholarship! This is a matter of respect that all collegiate coaches should instill."

A video from OutKick’s Dan Zaksheske showed Iowa players on the court holding hands during "The Star-Spangled Banner." LSU had left the court right before the anthem was played.

Mulkey said after the loss to Iowa her team’s absence was "routine."

"Honestly, I don't even know when the anthem was played," Mulkey said, via OutKick. "We kind of have a routine when (our players are) on the floor, and they come off at the 12-minute mark (prior to the game)."

According to nola.com, neither USC nor UConn were present for the national anthem before their Elite Eight game Monday night.

The Tigers haven't been present for the national anthem all season, and they were not present for it during last year's national championship.

Storm in a teacup or genuine disrespect that should be punished by taking athletic scholarships away?

The fact that the anthem is even played before non-national team games is stupid anyway.

none of the European sports leagues do it except at special games or times (like when the monarch is present or changes).  NCAA basketball is not a US event.  They should play the school's alma mater, not the national anthem.

I'm guessing there's a lot of Confederate flags flying around in Louisiana.  They're one of seven states that sell confederate license plates.

I wonder where that falls with being united under one flag?

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class
