I've warmed up to Jaylen.

Would take him if Bender does not fare well during workouts and interviews.

TP for reading my mind.

I could deal with that if Danny can convince me the kid can shoot.

His explosiveness is nice

His shot doesn't look that bad to me. When he squares his feet he has good results, they just need to break him of fading/leaning on shots.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

There are only 3 guys I'd still consider for the #3 pick (assuming we keep it) and that's Bender, Brown and Hield in that order. Bender represents what could be a swiss army knife star in the modern NBA, Brown with his physical gifts could be our answer to the best SFs in the league and Hield is about the safest player you can get in this draft and he does have some upside.

Apart from those 3 I'm losing interest in others at 3. Murray has big issues to address with his defence and Dunn seems as disinterested as anyone in coming here. I'm not reaching for Chriss at 3, trade back with Sacramento if you want to pick him.

True...and with that explosiveness, I could see him flourishing with the Celtics pace - ranked #3.

Fill in one of those lanes after a steal and he could get a lot of layups/dunks.

Plus, if they really wanted Winslow last year...why wouldn't they want Brown this year?

And they won't have to trade any picks.

There’s another post that talks about an analytical break down of the top draft prospects.  It refers to this article.

http://nyloncalculus.com/2016/05/23/who-should-the-celtics-take-with-the-third-pick-in-the-2016-nba-draft/

Of particular interest to this post is the following:

In the Do Not Want group is anyone scoring under a 4 in the PAWS model, which indicates a roll player or less.

Jaylen Brown leads the Do Not Want list, his overall play all year indicated less than a starter performance at the college level. In my training model not a single player went from this level of play in their draft year to become a star in the NBA.

I was a big fan of browns when I watched his HS mix tapes, but when I watched him play full games in college I started to see him more of a Justice Winslow or Stanly Johnson type of player.  And those type of players seem to be available every draft in the mid to late lottery range.

But the system didn't really play to his strengths, IMO.  Too conservative and slow, I think.

They are  different players.

The similarities are obvious (Athletic, struggle shooting, not terrific finishers) but after that, Winslow defends at a much higher level, seems to have a much better feel for the game and BBIQ(although I have heard some people defend Browns bbiq lately). Brown is a far far superior physical specimen. They are both good athletes but Winslow isnt half as explosive as Brown.
