Nice win by Carolina! Good to see them playing up to potential for once.
Now I just need Cuse to take out NC State and the day will be complete.
U.Mass - BC was nice game. Love watching U. Mass dribble drive motions offense...and they press man to man full court. Kellogg just needs a little more talent. Jackson is a big time player for BC. Horrible turnout by BC fans though....biggest bunch of front running fans this side of New York.

What is it with them and big white guys named Tyler? It's like it was some kind of weird mojo thing they were worried about: "OK, now Hansbrough's gone, we've gotta go out and find a clone!" ;)
Huge game for my Rhody Rams this Wednesday against no one other than BC. We got you guys last year Rondo2287 ;D.

Ya should be a good one. BC is in a fun transition year right now. Shoot alot of threes, we can beat anybody, but we can lose to anybody too. Don't know to much about URI this year, but if Raji can rebound the basketball, and Trapani doesnt shoot to much it should be a good matchup
DUKE GOES DOWN!!!!!!! yeah buddy
Ok - this Jimmer Fredette kid. I was holding out judgement on him, but I think he is a NBA player, for real.
He was guarded really well on some of his shots, and still hit them.
Best 2 rivalries in college ball (imo) in a doubleheader tonight:

Go Cuse and Carolina!! (just hoping for a split realistically).
whats the deal with ESPN covering seemingly ALL of Purdue's games? I typically watch a couple of CBB games a week, and 1 always ends up being a Purdue game.
that team is going to make some serious noice in the tourney between Johnson/Moore. I also like Illinois a lot - they've been underachieving for a few years but they have the vets to really give someone hell next month.
Should be a fun night. Really looking forward to the Duke UNC game.
Oh and Fairweather why Cuse and Carolina? Jw.
hey fairweatherfan
you root for the sixers? That sounds better than "fair weather" to me.
You a Cavs guy? Rough year for the fellas. That's the understatement of the year, buddy boy. I've been watching basketball since I was in high school. Never have I seen such wretchedness, ineptitude, and submissive play.
Down to two points with a minute left ... nice run by BC.

What a strange game that UNC BC one was today. Couldn't score a lick in the first half either team. UNC takes control over the second half, but BC gets back in it in a blink of an eye with their three ball and loses on an rimmed out three by Reggie Jackson.
This doesn't have to do with the UNC BC game, but IMO I'm kind of dissapointed with college basketball this year. It seems really really down.
Even though making the college game is not the responsibility of the NBA, but making the NBA better is, which I think this would too. I hope that the NBA puts in a rule that either you enter the draft out of high school or if you go to college you have to stay after 3 years or until you are 21.
PSU's Taylor Battle just became the first player in Big Ten history to go for 2000,500,500 in a career.
Other players to do it include but not limited to
Speedy Claxton
Danny Ainge
Jameer Nelson
Kemba Walker reminds me a lot of an OJ Mayo-type: he's talented enough to make good money and put up good numbers in the NBA, but I don't know if his game is conducive to helping a team win meaningful games.
And no, I'm not just saying that as a bitter Syracuse fan ;)
I bet 'Cuse still gets a decent seeding, though. Sunday's selection committee will be interesting.

Hoping for a 3 seed, but I think a 4 is more likely.
And I've still got my #2 team UNC to root for, so all's well. My favorite time of basketball season, no offense to the NBA.

Well, Cuse got their 3 seed, but they're facing a possible Sweet 16 game against UNC. Should be a nice house divided game with the fiancee and a lot of my friends on each side. Hope it goes down that way.
But what is with the two lowest #1 seeds (Pitt and Duke) having the two easiest brackets? Never know how it'll shake out but Ohio St and Kansas seem to have much tougher roads ahead of them.
Without studying the bracket yet... I'm going with Duke to repeat.I'm a Duke fan. But I don't see this going down. One game where the 3 isn't going down and it's over with. I never thought in a million years I'd say this....... they need Zoubek to win.
This has got to be, without question, one of the most frustrating, perplexing seedings that the NCAA has had in recent memory ... I am absolutely dumbfounded at some of these picks. The people responsible either know absolutely nothing about college basketball, or were secretly drugged en masse before making the decisions. :P

Very questionable "First Four" at large selections and questionable seedings for some of the teams in the bracket.

I'd agree that UAB and VCU getting in over say, Colorado, Virginia Tech, or Saint Mary's is surprising. But I'm so tired of all these coaches whining and crying every time their team isn't picked. Seth Greenberg does it every year, and St. Mary's coach Randy Bennett was shown on SportsCenter last night griping.
These teams all had ample opportunities to show they belonged in the tournament, and they all lost games they should have (or needed to) win. VT got the huge win against Duke, then choked at home against BC. St. Mary's lost to San Diego, which according to the experts is one of the worst teams in D1 this year. If you want to go to the tournament so bad, win the games you need to win.

VT didn't blow there chances by losing to a pretty good BC squad. They lost their chance by getting swept by Virginia.
BC didn't deserve to be in nor belonged in the tournament.

I think it depends, the team that beat VT the second time around Deserved to be in, the team that lost to clemson didnt deserve to be in the ACC tourney. But thats the problem when you have a team that lives and dies by the three and doesnt play much D

When you're the proverbial "bubble team" with everything to play for and you go out and lay an absolute egg with a 20+ pt loss to another bubble team, there are no more excuses. They had everything to play for and they didn't show up.
They put themselves in that position in the first place and fell flat on their face.

Don't get me wrong I agree, I think they deserve to be in the NIT. And the fact that they are playing away as the number seed at mcneese state is pretty telling, but the idea that VT got snubbed and BC didnt is preposterous to me. BC beat VT heads up twice, had a better RPI and SOS. I don't think either team deserved to be in, I was just saying VT doesnt have a leg to stand on

VTech's upset of Duke in front of a national television audience is why some are up in arms about their snub. Plus, their coach is being pretty vocal about it to anyone who will listen.
BC playing a road game as a #1 seed in the NIT is an absolute joke. The school is doing it under the guise of "having the arena at the disposal of the men & women's hockey teams" when, in reality, DeFillipo is scared that no one would show up. The poor thing is that the kids now have to travel to some backwoods town in LA rather than play at the comforts of home because the administration is too scared of what Conte might look like.

Honestly I would have rather seen Harvard get in over BC or VT. At least the Crimson played like they wanted to go to the tournament.

Well didnt the womens hockey team just play a tournament game infront of an announced audience of 548? I think they are worried they are going to have to take another loss on a postseason game. Doesnt the NCAA regulate ticket prices for the postseason games so prices go up so even less people would go?
Well Don's if BC and Northwestern advance BC will host them in the second round. They must figure a big 10 school can draw some more interest.

wow. The Penn State coach is leaving for Navy. I find the whole thing weird. He led that team to more success than it really ever had and PSU is his alma matter.
Just awful.
I totally agree. Maybe they don't actually want to have a good basketball team, which strikes me odd because I don't see the downside and their arena is phenomenal.http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=6580565If Penn State wanted to keep him all they had to do was show him some love with a contract extension.
