That is true.  27 years of two St. Louis Cardinals, still weird to me.

I never thought about that.  I’m curious how the trademark situation worked.  Same name, similar logos, similar colors.

New York had two Giants teams for 30 something years

So lots of precedent for cities having the same name teams in 2 different sports.

I mean, let's be honest here, there aren't two franchises with the name, Guardians. The MLB baseball team is the only one that counts and the roller derby team is just a local club that uses that name. A high school that uses the same name as a local professional sports team has more of a following than a roller derby team. This is nothing like the Cardinals or Giants.
