You guys are overestimating the rest of the world lol. This USA team will still ROFLstomp the World Cup, and I'd argue that they'll mesh better with a clear hierarchy.
Love your confidence, but it's not based in reality. The event has taken place 17 times since 1950. USA won 5 times (1954, 1986, 1994, 2010 and 2014). The current USA team obviously lacks superstars and MVPs. I see no reason to not be concerned.

I think you guys were playing amateurs before the 90s, so imo those don't really count. But yeah the records don't look great even after the 90s, although you guys won 3 out of 7 lol. I still think that this current team is more than enough to cruise their way to a win though, I'm not seeing many strong foreign teams with a whole host of star talent to challenge them.
Even then, 1990 and 1998 were also amateurs. The championships played with NBA pros were 1994, 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014.
Losing in 2002 and 2006 had more to do with having too many mouths to feed on offense then anything else, imo, especially so in 2002. I get the appeal of throwing together 12 of the best stars out there, but as we saw with our own Celtic season, if there is no hierarchy, things can get chaotic.
