I don't think any movie quite captures the beauty of basketball quite like He Got Game.  Then again I have only seen about half of the movies on that list. ;D
When I'm in the gym...I like to grunt when  I get my swell on... That way everyone can see how jacked and tan I am.

that is definitely in my top __ whatever:

Hoosiers
Hoop Dreams
Amazing Grace & Chuck
Love & Basketball (i love dramas/love stories... sue me.  The only negative, Epps plays for the lakers)
He Got Game
Rebound

One glaring ommision from the poll -- and a definite in my top 10 --- is "Heart of the Game", just a tiny notch below Hoop Dreams, a great film for BBall fans.

I also have to admit to really having enjoyed "Through the Fire" about Telfair.

And though i haven't seen it yet, i have a feeling the 2007=08 Celtics Championship DVD box set will make my top 10 ;)

Liked these, but not in that "Finals" category:
white men can't jump
glory road
Forget Paris - good NBA cameos
Coach Carter
Fish that Saved Pittsburgh (i don't even remember the movie/plot but we were sooo excited after seeing it)

It's tough not to go with the classics like "Hoosiers", but "Hoop Dreams" is a film that i still think is #1/2 best sports Documentaries ever ("When We Were Kings" still in the mix for that one, "Pumping Iron" just below).

"Hoop Dreams" is a film that every basketball fan should see at least one in their lives, and personally is one of the major inspirations behind my own sports Documentary series about the Celtics.

Has anyone here seen Summertime switch?

Young punk Freddie Egan (Jason Weaver) is in a juvenile detention center for the summer. Spoiled rich-kid Frederick Egan III (Rider Strong) is going to a luxurious summer camp. However, a name mix-up at the bus terminal sends the boys to each other's destinations, and while Eddie gets a taste of the good life, Frederick learns some valuable life-lessons from his stay in jail.
