Asking Muscala to play just a day after he got traded is probably asking too much lol. Doubt he plays

I also wouldn’t mind just giving Tatum the night off. He needs (and deserves) it. Really hope both Timelord and Horford can play

Derrick White played the day after he was traded last year.  Depends how quickly Muscala came to Boston for his physical.  I doubt the Thunder care about Jackson’s physical, so there are fewer hurdles.  Questionable seems about right.

Oh he did? I guess I forgot lol, I thought White missed a game while travelling here then played but I could very well be wrong, it was a year ago so it's been a long time

I mean, I'm going from memory, but I'm pretty certain he got in against Denver on a Friday night.  It took Theis a couple of games to be active because the Rockets were waiting on a physical from someone.

OH actually... it might have been Theis I was thinking of. I did remember someone played for us after a trade but not immediately because of physical and other trade logistics

But anyways, if he's ready, I'd love to see some Muscala tonight  :)

Anyone else know Musky Mike had a rap career? Not bad… Also, has his priorities straight.  :laugh:

I’m pretty sure I’ll never understand the appeal of rap but I like the focus on championships - hope he helps get one here.

Yep. Definitely the best part of his song. Lol.

Also….

@taylorcsnow
Mike Muscala has had the best 3P% among NBA bigs over the past 10 seasons.

The top 3 are all past or current Celtics.

1. Mike Muscala – 37.9%
2. Kelly Olynyk – 36.7%
3. Al Horford – 36.6%

Hornets aren't good but C's may be missing the Jays + Smart and possibly 1 of Horford/Timelord (maybe). C's should still win but I wouldn't expect an "easy" win either

Luckily the already bad Hornets just traded away a starter and a key reserve, while also missing a couple of other players from their rotation due to injury.  We shouldn't play down to them, of course, but the Celtics are not the only short-handed team in the arena tonight.

Oh never mind. I guess Tatum will play tonight? (I'd rather rest him tbh)

Celtics injury updates for tonight:

Rob Williams updated to available.

Jayson Tatum upgraded to probable.

Al Horford downgraded to questionable.

Malcolm Brogdon added as probable, but has Achilles soreness.

Jaylen Brown, Danilo Gallinari and Marcus Smart all still OUT

It's a bit unsettling to see Brogdon with the Achilles soreness (he had it last season too). I think he won't play tonight

@ChrisForsberg_

Shootaround notes:

Jayson Tatum (questionable, illness) went through his usual gameday shooting routine.

Mike Muscala in the building, saying hello to players/staff.

Robert Williams has a little patch of maroon in his hair now; I'm eager to see if he goes full Smart with it.

Maroon patch in hair = increasedknee stability and jumping

I know I'm probably in the minority who feels this way, and some will roll their eyes that I keep saying this, but it's unsettling to think that again, Tatum will probably play 38+ minutes today

We do need him as fresh as possible for the postseason. Not ideal he's playing a ton of heavy minute-games with still over 20 games to go. Need to give him some days off

Even MIL gave Giannis some time off out of "precaution"
