I hope we run a deep rotation this year. It makes a big difference in team energy.

just joining the game and cannot watch, aside from the box score.

a tp for an overview.

Vonleh has 9 rebounds off the bench? that is good. how do the kids and bench look?

Cs shot well and defended well. We just couldn’t miss. Malcolm spent the first half distributing the ball, started shooting more in the 2nd. Hauser and Kabe were solid off the bench. They were just at a different level of intensity to the Hornets who missed a lot of shots.

I agree - at least for the first half of the season. It may help keep them fresher once the playoffs come around. If there's one criticism I'd have about Ime's coaching, that would be it.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Kabenjele and Hauser looked good for a first preseason game.  Lot's of energy from Kabenjele and great shooting from Hauser.

Vonleh had 9 rebounds but 5 fouls. Kabe made a big impression all round with his energy and hustle.  Shamanic didn’t play long enough to really make an impression

One thing that wasn’t good was they threw the ball away 23 times, Smartacus and the Jays were responsible for 13 of those but the Hornets couldn’t make them pay

I was able to find a stream and watch the last bit of the 3rd and the 4th.
I was impressed how well our 8-13 bench guys played.  Kabengele and Hauser were awesome.
JD Davidson looked good, PP played really well, Vonleh is trying to get off the rust, but he hustled and worked hard.

I am more encouraged about our bench if they can play this well / hard every game.

I was just going to post about that. Insane number of assists, ball really flew around. Brogdon had 11pts/9ast/5rebs. Really solid. I know it’s a preseason game, but I still feel like it was important to have a good showing for coach Mazz’s first game and set the tone with a win.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

WE are missing 3 guys and we look like we have too many players. That makes me feel good.

Oh, 4 guys if we include Griffin...

Hauser defense solid. If that keeps up, loss of Gallo will be minimized.

Love Kabengele energy.

Brogdon is such a good player. He sees the game so well.

I know it’s preseason but Joe has them playing the right way. Especially on offense.

That was fun!!

I'm glad everybody got in the scoring column - a feel good way to start the pre-season. Definitely an enjoyable game to watch as it was stress-free and the team was cooking.

As for Kab, I'm okay with him staying where he is for now. He is eligible for 50 regular season games on his two-way and will be paid half the rookie minimum; so it sucks a lot less for guys on these contracts than it used to. If he is just blowing it out of the water, then we will have the opportunity to convert him to a standard contract.

Sam Hauser definitely justified my faith in him for at least one afternoon.  As advertised shooting, solid defense, a nice finish at the rim, and a terrific lob to Kabengele.  I’ll take it!
