The Broncos coach wouldn’t let that happen, so you’ll have to hope for a tie next week so the Colts can be 2-2-2.

Yeah just fire him already lol.

It's freakin' OT...just take the points. All these aggressive coaches deserve to lose games now.

A game where no touchdowns were scored by either team on PRIMEtime, pitiful.

I was actually at this game, and it was one of most boring games of my life till last 25 minutes. I agree they should fire the coach, but the decision to go for it there was actually the right decision by a very strong margin. If you “take the points” indi gets the ball with 2:30 left in a tie game and you have about a 35% chance of getting the tie 63% chance of losing and 2% chance of winning (basically a really quick turnover). Colts had also just driven down the field for field goals on the last two drives. Conversion rate on 4th and 1 is like 70%. If you convert that you are then almost certainly winning the game (Colts we’re starting to get tired there also). Again the play call was terrible should have been a sneak or a boot leg. But taking the points is not even close to the right side of the math.

Ehhh idk feels like analytics tend to backfire as much lately but I think it's all how one perceive things down the stretch...Colts can just as well also held onto the ball and end the game in a tie or just get into a long FG range to win (factor in Mile High altitude) or Denver D pressuring them to get the ball back. Sure conversion rate on 4th and 1 is like 70% but the D has a smaller field to cover to the endzone (ball at Indy 5?). And Indy already kicked a FG in OT, so Denver knew they were in a dire do-die situation on 4th and 1 and still went for it. The result was turnover on downs and game over Colts win.

But yes, agree that the coach should get cannnned. Unacceptable how he has a QB making that much money to put up 0 TDs for this game and similar performances the past few weeks lol

The problem was the terrible play call on that last play — they should’ve done some sort of play-action to create more motion by the offense and thus a greater chance of confusion for the defense. And they didn’t even need to go for the touchdown — one more yard would’ve given them four chances from about 5 yards away. And of all the people to throw at, he went at Stephon Gilmore, one of the best DBs in the biz. Such a bad decision.

Also, what's up with Russell Wilson and goal-line/near goal-line game-losing turnovers seems be building a solid resume on that lol

That game was an abomination.  I said it a few weeks ago.  Hackett is in over his head.  Horrible coach.   They had that game in the bag in regulation and blew it.

Also, as a BC alum, its sad seeing Matty Ice become a shell of himself.

Yeah, Hackett may be the worst coach in football.

I'll always have a soft spot for Matt Ryan, even if he does look totally wrong in a Colts jersey.  But yeah, in the modern era it's completely unacceptable for two offenses to fail to score a TD, unless they're playing in a monsoon.

Russell Wilson has gone from underrated to overrated (when people were calling him an MVP caliber player) to exposed.

Both of those teams have awful O-lines. Least Wilson has the wheels to escape occasionally, Ryan is just a sitting duck. Even Jonathan Taylor is having a bad year and he’s regarded by most as the best RB in the league.

They should have kicked and the only reason they didn't was the backlash from the 68 yarder they tried a couple of weeks back.  Wilson was awful in that game.  Couldn't put your faith in him.  Kick the FG, hope you stop them and get the ball back with enough time to move into FG range again.  That was the play for the Broncos there.

You are a big math guy. Going for it was decidedly on the math side (I explained earlier). Ironically you literally supported the ravens going for it in a similar situation against the bills a week ago. Kicking the field goal here was even worse cause you lose with a mere field goal if you kick it (bills would have tied). Kind of funny

Also: hope you get the ball back to win is absolutely hilarious. There was 2:30 left and the colts would run or do safe passes to take it down 1:20 before they ran their third down play. This is some you realize how to manage as a 12 year old in madden (admittedly sometimes coach fail this test, but very unusual.)
