He’ll be an unrestricted free agent. Where will he end up? Is there a possibility that he would come here for the tax MLE? Is he worth it? I think he would be great Rob backup and even hope they could play together, since he actually has a 3pt shot and Rob plays a ‘free electron’ role on defense, rather than guarding the opposing center

I have to think he’s looking for a place where he can get minutes, rather than being a 4th or 5th big in the rotation.

He wouldn't be our third big and maybe even a starter?

I think Tatum has worked out with him quite a bit in the summer. If Tatum likes him, I could see him filling a Javale McGee type role on this team.

Bamba should be looking at $10-12mil per year (MLE money or slightly above). I doubt he takes the taxpayers MLE ($6mil).

I'm not sure he'll get much if any opportunities to start anywhere so I could see him taking a bench role.

If you could have Mo Bamba or Isaiah Hartenstein which would you take? They are both 24. I'd take Hartenstien. He seems better at everything...

Would absolutely pick Hartenstein.  Can’t imagine we’d be his best option as free agent who’s only made the minimum in his career, but I really like him and would be happy with that outcome.

Bamba, because he has a chance to be a legit floor spacer. 38% of 4 threes a game last year, if he's even 35% at that volume moving forward that's a fantastically valuable skill.

Not shotblocking, foul shots percentage, and  rebounds,  but Isaiah played 7 minutes less a game.

thanks. i was unaware that the celtics had a specific team role for village idiots.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I've heard the market for centers is going to be flush. It's possible he gets sold on Boston given Timelord's injury history, Al's age, and the Celtics penchant for double big lineups (which, if Bamba's 3-point shooting is for real, could be on the table).

Just to put a bow on this thread, Bamba resigns with Orlando for 2 years, $21 million and Hartenstein got 2 years $16 mil from New York. Both just a little outside what the Celtics could've offered.

Nope, he's fine being the 5th big and getting paid.

We would be very lucky if nobody was willing to spend their MLE on Bamba and he came here on the minimum. That’s a great opportunity for him considering Timelord’s injury history, and it would be interesting to see if he pulls it all together.
