Scary stuff.  Dikembe is one of the all time great characters in the NBA.  I hope he gets through this okay.

I heard about this.  :( Hopefully he gets the care he needs. He was great on the court but just as active off it, with his foundation and charities to try and improve the lives of the people of the Congo.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Man, that sucks. He does a lot of genuine good for people who really need it.

I can't believe he's only 56, for some reason. Feels like he should be older

The term “treatments” makes it sound like it’s bad, as in cancer. Unless the term is being used to mean surgery, in which case hope it’s benign and in relatively good place to remove.

Very sad news. Hopefully he pulls through. Being a D-guy, he’s obviously one of my favorite non-Celtics. The finger wag is iconic.

It clearly is. Mutombo seems to be so under-rated among the all-time great big men, along with Artis Gilmore, Bob Lanier and several others
