I knew this whole Tatum participating in the Olympics was a bad idea.

Ruled out of an exhibition game due to knee injury. Should just rest up and not play for the Olympics this year. He needs to rest and get ready for October and help the Celtics win a title.
If Tatum wasn't training and playing with Team USA, he would be training and playing somewhere. Knee tweaks can happen there as much as they could the Olympics.

Besides, he is already back to full time practice.

AND!!!!

He gets to do a lot of one on one work with his head coach. Oh, yeah, and there's that little thing about dreaming to one time play for your country in the Olympics.

I have no issue with Tatum on Team USA. If he wasn't recuperating from surgery still, I would have loved to seen Jaylen there too

Yes, I want him to win a medal for our country too  :police:
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Wizards' Bradley Beal will not play in the Tokyo Olympics for Team USA, USAB says.

I know the odds are low, but I really hope they get Smart to replace him.  He’s been vocal about wanting an Olympic opportunity in the past.  He opted out of the team back in early March right after he returned from his injury, but maybe he’s feeling differently now after an early playoff exit.
Would be really cool. USAB could do with some guard defence
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Having both Jrue and Smart seems like an overkill tbh. I mean, Jrue is expected to join the team after the Finals.

The team needs some top tier role players,  they have a lot of stars, a facilitator would help

They got Bam, Draymond, Jrue and Jerami Grant to do the dirty work on defense. None of them is a role player in their teams, but I'd expect them to transform into role players in a team full of superstars. Bam, Draymond and Jrue are great facilitators as well.

Free Nneka Ogwumike!!!
Why is she not on the US team? She has been an MVP, champion, All-WNBA, All-Defensive and All-Star all within the last 5 years, and wants to play

Really weird selection……I have not heard an official explanation. Now she loses the chance to enjoy the Olympics with her sisters.

There was some talk on social media that it was because she was rehabbing from an injury, but so was Taurasi, and if I'm not mistaken, Taurasi is injured again.

I agree with you. He's about to start a 5 year max deal, a significant injury would be a huge blow to the team that's on the hook for max money but USA basketball just calls the next player up.

Love's withdrawn per Woj.

After spending 10 days in Las Vegas preparing for the Olympics, Cleveland’s Kevin Love is withdrawing from Team USA and won’t travel to Tokyo, sources tell ESPN. Love is still returning to full form from a right calf injury that kept him out a significant part of the NBA season.

Addition by subtraction.

Yikes  :-X

Adrian Wojnarowski: Keldon Johnson and JaVale McGee will replace Bradley Beal and Kevin Love on Team USA’s roster for the Olympics, sources tell ESPN. McGee will travel to Las Vegas to join team on Saturday.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Wow.  Bottom of the barrel, scraped.

Anybody remember the time we almost signed Maggie, but his agent wouldn’t agree to a second year? Who knew we were passing on a future Olympian?

Those two replacing Beal and Love is an absolute embarrassment. It’s just sad.
