I'm so glad we get to watch Kyrie grow his brand.
I hate it but Bird also did it. Granted he was more accomplished

I like that his brand is this fun character. He's not Kobe with his "muse cage" or any other number of athletes who build a brand around either making very serious faces all the time or being big, ridiculous characters a la Barkley or Westbrook.

None of it matters to me if Kyrie isn't also winning games for Boston but all things considered, I dig this.

Summer would've been a good time to have his inevitable knee surgery.  But hey, cool children's film.

I actually saw it in the theatre (what that says about me, I don't know).  It was better than I expected it to be.  Fun seeing the old nba guys having fun and being in a movie.  It was fun, not terrible.  Maybe a few of us here would benefit from a little movie timeout from the last couple of days.

I'm so glad we get to watch Kyrie grow his brand.

I agree.  I also think I read he wrote/directed some of the Uncle Drew commercials?  I'm sure that means he contributed somewhat to the movie also?

It's too bad people in the sneaker thread were saying his shoes aren't great to play in, because I was on my way to buy them.  They look good enough, and I never know what the heck to buy in a basketball shoe (wasn't actually asking for advice, but I'll happily take it from anyone who's bored and wants to PM me).

In fact, I never really know what to look for in any shoe, so I'm still considering a pair just to wear.
My brother wears Kyrie's and doesn't have any complaints, but I've never worn them myself.

Not to derail the thread, but PG1's are great to play in for me, so you might like those.

I have hbo. I'm almost excited about this. It wasn't worth $15 at the theater or a $5 movie rental...but a hbo watch seems about right.

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

That is what I thought.  All the guys did a decent job for not being actors.
