I saw him compared to D White. That is interesting.

His stats, I don't know. The 50% FG% is good. The 38% 3PT% is good but he was only 30% the prior 2 years. His FT% has been going down during his 3 years from 76% to 68% to 65% for a 68% average. A bad sign for his shooting touch. A low FT% and a decling one at that.

I was curious what D White's stats looked like in college. He came out as a freshman. So only 1 year. He shot 50% from the field, 40% from 3 (39.6%) and 81% from the FT line. On 18ppg vs 15ppg from a junior season (only 8ppg freshman, 12ppg sophomore) for Colby Jones.

Do you buy his jump-shot? Do you think he is a legit shooter? That FT% scares me.
His free throw shooting is definitely an odd aspect of his game, I can’t explain it.

But I like his potential as a shooter. He’s a really strong catch and shoot guy, and his jumper looks smooth to me. Think his C&S % on 3PT shots was well into the 40s.

I really like his passing game. His outlet passing is just perfect! He can also operate in the PnR as a secondary ball handler. High upside comp is a Gordon Hayward type, but smaller.

I'm hoping the C's take Brice Sensabaugh at 25. That is if they keep the pick...

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I am wanting to prioritize defense over offense, but if Sensabaugh is there a 25 you gotta take him. Guy is a walking bucket.

I live in Columbus and am an Ohio State alum. I don’t want anything to do with Sensabaugh. He plays no defense at all and had a problem buying into the team concept.

He can score but does very little else. He would be a great pick if he played defense

Spot on.  I'm a Columbus, OH guy as well. (At least for the next few months then off to Orlando!)  He can score at the NBA level just has no clue or urge to play D.

Derrick White was a 4 year college player who played his first 3 years for a community college. The stats you have listed are from his senior year.

I don't have any idea how anybody will work out, but just wanted to make sure you knew that Derrick White wasn't some superstar blue chip prospect - quite the opposite in fact.

I'm liking everything I read about Leonard Miller, if he slips to 25. Good size at 6-9, can play the wing, averaged 17 and 10 in the G League as an 18-year-old.

Or Dariq Whitehead, if the medicals check out. He was a big-time high school recruit and can shoot the lights out.

That makes sense. That lines up much more with my memory of him (an older prospect). Only the one year came up college basketball-reference.com. Thank you.

Wikipedia on D White's time in Division II school

Quote
White was lightly recruited out of high school, receiving no scholarship offers from any four-year institutions. At the time of his high school graduation, which fell about two months before his 18th birthday, he was barely 6 feet tall—after growing two inches during his senior year.[7] The only head coach at a four-year school who showed sustained interest in White was Jeff Culver, then the head coach at the Denver campus of Johnson & Wales University, a non-scholarship NAIA member better known for its culinary program. By the time White was preparing to make his college decision, Culver was hired as head coach at NCAA Division II UCCS, and offered White a room and board stipend for his freshman season.[8] Culver was only expecting White to become a starter late in his college career. He was aware that White's father had a late growth spurt in college, and also knew that doctors had projected White to potentially reach 6'5".[8] As it turned out, White reached that potential height by the time he enrolled at Colorado–Colorado Springs.[7] With his newfound size and athleticism, White became a star at UCCS, starting every game of his three-year career and left as the school's career leader in points (1,912) and assists (343). In his junior season, he averaged 25.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.2 assists for the Mountain Lions, leading the team to the 2015 NCAA tournament.[9] He was named an All-American.

Following this season, White opted to transfer to Division I Colorado to play for Tad Boyle and to test his skills in the Pac-12 Conference, one of the top college leagues in the country.[10] After sitting out the 2015–16 season per NCAA rules, White excelled in his lone season with the Buffaloes, averaging 18.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. He was named first-team All-Pac-12 and a member of the five-man All-Defensive team.[11]

I had no idea D White was one of those late growth spurt guys. So he grew 2 inches as a senior and another what 4-5 inches in the summer (?) in between his senior year and freshman year of college (Apr til Sep so 5 months). 5 inches in 5 months. Wow.

His shooting numbers are much closer to what you expect as well. He shot 34% from 3 as a freshman, 29% as a sophomore, 34% again as a junior before 39.6% for Colorado as senior. He did shoot above 80% from the foul line all 4 years though. 81%, 83%, 84% and 81% again as a senior. 43%, 48%, 53% FG%. Stats from his wikipedia page.

I feel like we need a scoring wing or a ball distributing point guard who won't get destroyed defensively.

I'm really interested to see if we make the pick or TRADE IT!

What will be Brad's move?

Will be traded to the Pistons according to Woj. Celts get #31 and some second rounders.
