They have Karl Anthony Towns at #18 and Kemba at #17.  That seems off.  I would trade Kemba for KAT straight up anytime.

Kyrie 11
There's a six slot difference between them? Not sure about that tbh.
They are both too high, but Irving is better than Walker.

Yeah they're both too high and I agree that Kyrie is better than Walker, but I'm skeptical that the gap is that large.

It is just a simple ranking.  It is not a grading system like is done by some for prospects.  All it shows is they have 5 players ranked between the two.  That doesn't necessarily mean the gap is large.  Kyrie could grade out as a 91.0 and Kemba as a 90.0 and there still could be 5 players between them.

Both too high? Kemba seems just about right - look at the players just above him (or in front of him). He is coming off of a 3rd team All-NBA selection and in the middle of his prime. Maybe Butler or Towns could slide a few slots up, but it's not like guys like Conley, Russell, or Trae Young should propel ahead of him.

But, yeah, Irving at 11 is lame. He should be at 16 just ahead of Kemba.

I just don't rate offensive engines highly when they don't have a transcendent offensive impact and don't offer much on the other end of the court. I think Kemba should be a couple of slots lower (therefore allowing guys like Towns and Butler to be ahead of him), while Kyrie should only be just ahead of him.

Yeah I think 17 is too high for Kemba.  I'd certainly have Towns and Butler ahead of him as I believe they are both better players.  I think you could argue someone like Mitchell, who unlike Walker, isn't yet a finished product and should get a lot better.  If I was starting a team for just 1 season, I'd probably take Blake Griffin, though his health would scare me.  Beal and Walker seem like a toss-up to me.

Irving should be somewhere in the 15-16 range.  I'd certainly take Russ, McCollum, and Gobert over him.

For the first time since ESPN started doing this Lebron was not #1.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27698894/ranking-nba-best-players-no-10-lebron

10 - George
9 - Lillard
8 - Embiid
7 - Jokic
6 - Curry
5 - Davis
4 - Harden
3 - Lebron

The top 2 (Giannis/Kawhi) will come out tomorrow.

Naah, Smart is in no ways a top 20 player.  Top 50, in terms of defensive impact, I could see an argument.

The rankings seem fair overall.  What we need to see is a jump in development by Tatum.  If he can get into that top 20 conversation, the Celtics could make some noise this season.

If Brown can mature as well then we would have a dynamic duo to go along with Kemba.  But we're going to have to wait and see if they can fulfill their promise.

I do NOT want to see Hayward taking away minutes from the young bucks unless he shows he deserves it though.  The development of the two jays, like it or not, will likely determine our team's trajectory for the season.

James is still overrated by a few slots, I'd rank Curry and Davis over him.

Giannis came in at 1 ahead of Kawhi.
That's completely fair, Giannis had an all-time season last year. Imo he and Curry are the clear cut top two players in the league.

Figured I'd bump this thread instead of creating a new one, as another ranker came out: Bleacher Report's Top 100 Players in the NBA Right Now

#69 - Hayward (SI @ 59, ESPN @ 65)
#63 - Marcus Smart (SI @ 82, ESPN @ 87)
#61 - Jaylen Brown (SI @ 68, ESPN @ 51)
#34 - Jayson Tatum (SI @ 35, ESPN @ 35)
#18 - Kemba Walker (SI @ 20, ESPN @ 17)

Seems like ESPN, SI, and B/R are all pretty consistent with their Celtics rankings, with Smart getting a big lift here from B/R.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Their top 10 is actually very solid. It gets iffy from there though.
