I guess you can say that, but they've been dangling him in trade talks for the past 4 years lol.

Yes, but nobody wants him  ;D. Therefore he's stuck in Detroit.

Certainly no one from the C's for as long as Danny is in charge. I mean, he traded Pierce and was trying to persuade Red to trade Bird and McHale.

Dirk and Haslem are the obvious ones. From the younger players I'd go with Giannis. Everything about him screams old school:

- refuses to work out with other all stars cause he sees them as rivals
- keeps a low profile despite his success
- seems like he values loyalty. Has said a lot of times he loves it in Milwaukee and wants to be a Buck for life

We will have to wait and see if this is true.

But I hope so too, it is truly refreshing to see someone who doesn't want to form super teams.

How much I do value Davis, that's a beautiful picture to think about.
The Celtics just have so much talent, they probably would win a championship without Davis someday.

But under condition of a reasonable package the chance of winning multiple championships increases with Davis on board.

Maybe my point. I think we can win the championship this year. I think we will be better next year without Davis. I think all the other true contenders will be worse. We have those players locked up, some for at least 7-8 years.

I don't know whether Milwaukee or Denver will be worse, but all the other teams probably will.

They have to lose a couple of their core - Mirotic, Bledsoe, Middleton, Lopez, and Brogdon. I don't think any of their core can/will get better even if they can find a way to keep them all. Middleton will get a max contract. Brogdon will likely get something like what Smart got, maybe a little less. At that point, they are already over the cap and within 25 million of the luxury tax. Bledsoe will get paid. Mirotic will get paid. Lopez will get paid. Are they better with that team? I think this year is a fluke. They will become a middling team next year after all these guys are off their contract year.

Denver might be better though. That's a good point.

I think that the Bucks will keep their core as much as possible and not try to find an extra star in free agency, but all those likely salary increases together indeed adds up to a big amount.

Will they let go of Middleton?

Brogdon is a keeper for sure (and a restricted free agent), Bledsoe might not be that expensive and Lopez is a fantastic fit on that team.

Edit: I now have 900 posts and 100 TP's!  :)

I saw a video of him mocking LeBron during all-star selection when LBJ picked Anthony Davis. Giannis asked "isn't that tampering"....gold.

Sure and Morris, Rozier, and maybe Baynes are all probably gone this summer as well.  Heck Horford could opt out and leave.  And Boston is already paying the luxury tax, wait until Irving's max contract kicks in.  Just seems silly to talk about some lesser players (like Lopez) leaving as if that doesn't happen to every team every year.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick
