The Warriors and Knicks have agreed in principle to a sign-and-trade deal that would send power forward David Lee to Golden State for Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf and Kelenna Azubuike, multiple sources confirmed on Thursday.

According to one source, the terms of Lee’s contract have been agreed to, the paperwork has been completed and all that’s needed are the pertinent signatures.

Celts could step in, and shoehorn Sheed into a deal.

It depends on what the Knicks really want from the Warriors. If it's only AR, then perhaps Sheed could be used to reroute Buike and Turiaf to Boston.

Both would go a long way to bolstering our wing and frontcourt depth.

That's a pretty good return in a sign-and-trade.

creative idea, i like that. NY then would just take back randolph and maintain it's cap space; C's get Azubuike and Turiaf; G.S. gets it's man in Lee.

p.s.:

WHAT THE HECK IS GOLDEN STATE DOING???????
Why give up 3 pieces with shorter contracts and one guy who might be better than Lee in a couple years anyway just to lock yourself long term into ANOTHER PF/C that also needs to play close to the rim??? That ownership group is one of the worst. They don't have the pieces to Win Now, but they are cashing in some chips for a Win Now type of player but don't have the defense to cover Lee's complete lack thereof. terrible deal for them.

Golden State once again proves why it's Golden State.  Joe Barry Carroll is rolling over in his grave... :)

I believe that our best opportunity to trade Sheed was to Golden State. This makes me sad.

I can Turiaf but, why would Boston want Azabuke (SP) he's at 6'3.  We have Nate and Allen for to backup the 2.  We need a wing like Rasual Butler.  Someone 6'6 or over, IMO.

Buike is listed as 6'5". He'd be the athletic scoring option at SG/SF to complement Tony or Rasual at those positions.

if true its a bummer, I really wanted AR.
I heard yesterday that they pull the trigger on this trade if they don't land LBJ.
here's hoping the knicks get their man.

Wow, great trade for NYK, substantial value. Nice payday for Lee.

Ant Randolph and Amare is a pretty thin front line.
