Any guesses ? think the last big Celtic win streak was 19
Upcoming opponents:
14 if we beat: Warriors (hard)
Hawks (easy)
Mavs (easy)
Heat (kind of easy)
18 if we beat: Magic (kind of hard)
Pacers (kind of easy)
Pistons (kind of hard)
21 if we beat: Sixers (moderate)
Suns (easy)
Bucks (kind of hard)

This streak ends on Thursday unfortunately. The Warriors are too overpowered with their Big 4. The lack of Gordon Hayward will be our Achilles heel there.
It's been too long since I've last been overly excited about the Celtics. Just like back in the 08-09 days when they were riding on that 19-game winning streak, 13-game win streak, 10-game and so on 8)
-
Its going to be hard to beat the Warriors. But if we do, I can totally see us losing to the Hawks.
-
Sheesh! If we do manage to get by GSW, that schedule is about as easy as it gets...
-
13. CBS is still going to have to figure out his rotations so that the second unit isn't so inconsistent. I think Morris has to be the 6th man given Smart's shooting issues and Baynes or Theis has to start. Tatum could be the 6th man instead, but I'd rather see him get as many minutes with the starters as possible.
If not 13, the Cs will win 10 more until @ SAS 12/8 and/or @ DET 12/10. 6 games are against sub-500 teams and the 4 winning teams are all at home. The Cs are clearly better than all 10 of the opponents except DET 11/27.
-
Its been an amazing streak and year considering how it started. I hope we beat the warriors but I have my doubts. I will be rooting for us to win though. It is still been an amazing run after losing Hayward.
-
Can't wait to see what Brad throws at KD.
I'm guessing some mashup of Jaylen, Jayson, Semi, and maybe Smart. Interesting to see when each gets their turn..
-
I dont mind losing to the Warriors. They really are the cream of the crop but Im just hoping we stay competitive, if we can limit their offense to 105 and less, we have a chance.
Curry was bruised and did not play the last game and still they won against a tough opponent. Should Curry play on Thursday then im expecting him to be at less than 100% which give us a slight chance.
Can we put Horford on KD and hope he can contain him the way he has done with Porzingis? IDK but me hopes its just gonna be one heck of a grind out if we wanna have a chance to win.
-
I was thinking of something between 35 - 80.
46, 47-ish but there is no such option in the poll.
-
I believe I read somewhere the other day that the Warriors had the last 14 game win streak. Imnpretty sure they will come in on Thursday and make sure the C's don't match it.
-
i give us a 1 in 10 chance winning the next game . We need Hayward to increase the chances of matching up . Then it still favors the Warriors.
Its winnable ....nothing is impossible . Maybe Thompson and Curry fly to the wrong city and Durrant takes a sudden vacation .
But , very unlikely
Warriors just have three guys who never go cold all at the same time .
One or more is always ready to drop 40 every night. Plus the bench is more than enough , to knock off most teams.
Never has there been so many dead eye shooters on one team.
-
Yeah. GSW are just so skilled and so long. I would love to win that game, but it will be a pretty big upset if it happens. I'll be happy if we're competitive; when they unleash hell in the third quarter they have been destroying teams, even good teams.
Funny thing about our offense - the results are mediocre so far, but we have three starters shooting above 42% from 3, and a fourth at 37%. (The weak link is ... Kyrie at just under 33%(!)) Point is, that's a lot of shooting, especially from guys who can create and know how to pass and cut. Once they figure this out they should be much better on O.
-
This one has been circled on the calendar for a while as the end goal. It is incredibly impressive that the Cs were able to get to 13 straight wins, but I wouldn't be surprised if they get totally blown out in this one. I think fans and players are and have been relegated to the fact that this was the one they were definitely going to lose...and that's okay because they have far outperformed expectations to this point.
If they win, I won't know what to say. That will be some of the best mental toughness I have ever seen. No matter how good you are, you are bound to slip up sometimes - these are not robots.
Yep, I was wrong - thought that they were just going to mail it in after an fantastic streak. The ball doesn't always fall in the hoop, but Stevens sure does have these guys ready to D up at all times. The focus down the stretch was great - love these guys!
-
If teams like Orlando can beat the warriors. We can too

Good read.
The starting unit plays better with Baynes starting, and the second unit needs Morris' scoring.

Oh ye of little faith.
I'm not sure how long this streak will go on (it will inevitably end against a scrub team), but you best believe it'll be at least 14 after we beat GS tomorrow.
I'll bet 100 TPs on it!
-
Umm excuse me.. where is the 35-79 option on here... ;)
-
sadly we prolly lose to GS tomorrow. it is what it is. we will try our best. good barometer, then move forward.
-
Come on guys -- keep the FAITH!!
It's gonna be a tough game for sure, but we have a chance. It's the #1 defense vs the #1 offense. Who will take it? Anybody's guess, but it's gonna be really exciting!
Don't forget we have home court advantage here, maybe our Celtics can feed off the crowd energy at the Garden and pull it out!
-
37 people proven wrong ;D

Screw it, Im going for 80 straight. LOL

Time to eat my word.
Wow, the Celtics willed their way back from a 17-point deficit and stunned the Warriors! Huge congrats to the Celtics for beating 3 future HoFers and an all-star starter to complement them.
That makes the next game a huuuge trap game.
-
We got a few games coming up that we can’t overlook.
We have now beat the Spurs (ok, sans Kawhi) and Warriors and went into Oklahoma City and Milwaukee and came out with wins.
We pummeled the Knicks and beat the Raptors without Kyrie.
This hasn’t been the cupcake streak some want to make it out to be.
-
We'll break the Lakers record for consecutive victories and break Golden State's record for wins in a season while we're at it

Yeah Atlanta troubled us last time and they're not as bad as their record suggests.

Still no prefered option ::)

agree.....critics like to forget Hayward is lost for season, his points are significant . Then Al , Morris , and Kyrie not playing games. I think the hate blinds them to what actually transpired.

Weird - I [re-]posted last night and it showed up when I hit reply, but is gone now.
Anyway, long and short of it, I was totally wrong - this team is incredible and they play with an incredible level of intensity and focus. Stevens really has them firing on all cylinders. I imaginen they will have to lose at some point, but a team is going to really have to throw their best at them. Nobody should want to play the Cs.

The Hawks seem to always play us tough and it would make a lot of sense for there to be an emotional let-down after beating the Warriors.
But who knows? At this point I have no idea what to expect from this team.
-
We could have a letdown against Atlanta or anyone, but look next week to that Indy/Orlando/Detroit 3 games in 4 days stretch, and that's a pretty good candidate to end it. 2nd night of a back to back on the road in Indy would be my vote. The 2nd night of a back to back game on the road is usually a killer.
-
We have a lot of breaks coming up
Hawks (easy)
Mavs (easy)
Heat (kind of easy)
Magic (kind of easy)
Pacers (kind of easy)
Pistons
Sixers
Suns (easy)
Bucks
Sixers

Bucks
Mavs (easy)
Spurs (kawhi out?)
Pistons
Bulls (easy)

I know there's gonna be a game where the other team has a hot shooting night while we go cold, but...all those teams are beatable. It's not impossible we run the table the rest of the calendar year.

Tnq 😃

I could see it reaching 19 and losing to Detroit.
-
The Heat will play us tough I bet, but I think there's a good chance this streak stays alive after this week.
But agree with @nickagneta, DET could give us a helluva fight and could be where the streak ends (@19 games).
And LOL at this poll with 57% (me included) saying it would end at 13 vs. Warriors

lol I think it's hilarious seeing that bar everytime. Vast majority thought it was going to be over

LOL I remember last year, when down 2-0 to CLE in ECF, I made a poll saying "Do You Believe", and about 85% said "Nope. CLE will sweep", especially with IT now out for the rest of the season.
Then they won Game 3. So funny.
-
We should handle Dallas, Miami, and Orlando easily enough, but I can see both the Pacers and Pistons games being tough. I could see the Pacers beating us in Indy on the second night of a back to back, even if theoretically we should be favored.

I think we get stopped by White side and Heat in Miami . Thats a tuff game, thye play hard defense.
-
It will probably come on some night where we shoot like 30% from the feild and lose 88-84 to some very average team. Just don't want it to be against the sixers. I find those guys insufferable.

Agree. Losing to someone like the Pacers would be perfectly fine
-
I like how 80 started slow but I’d picking up votes lol
-
The Spurs in San Antonio.
-
The streak stops at 18 because it's an omen to the Celtics fate this season.
-
I'm going past 80 games and we are sweeping the playoffs! 92 or 96 in a #ROOOOOOOO
-
34
For Paul
On Christmas
.....To beat the Lakers 33 win record.
Beat LA ;D

We lost to Dion Waiters. Kaboom.

They went further than my guess. I hope they start another win streak.
-
I voted in the 14-17. I honestly thought we’d lose to the Hawks right after the Dubs. But hey, 16 games is pretty darn good!!
-
Looking back I guessed 14-17 as well. Nostradamus? :)
Anyways 16 wins in a row is quite good.
Now the Celtics need to fix that habit of falling behind early.
Take this game as a teaching point for Brad and hopefully we bounce right back with a win and start a new streak!
-
It'd be nice to win 7-10 in a row now.
