How in the world does Brad Stevens allow Marcus Smart to take so many shots? His shot selection is awful.
Right now, and going forward unless his shooting drastically improves, he projects as a defensive specialist. And IMO he is the odd one out if the Celtics select a guard in this years draft.
Yes he tough, yes he plays very good defense and yes he improved his FT shooting. And yes he has a role, even a important one, as a defensive stopper. But he is Rondo like on offense, meaning a layup offense, he should shoot the ball sparingly. But at least Rondo could dish and knew his limitations.
The past 2 games, against bad teams no less, has shown that Smart is not ready to be a starter in this league (unless your other 4 players are offensive juggernauts) and a contributor on offense. Smart is overall a solid bench guard, with very good defensive presence, average playmaking, and poor offensive capabilities.
I now conclude that, yes, Bradley is overall the better player.
