What's the first concert you attended? Oingo Boingo, in 1986.
What's the best/favorite concert you attended? Erasure 2018, Billy Joel/Elton John mid-90s
What's the performer/band you've seen in concert the most? Billy Joel
What's the last concert you went to? Billy Joel, 2018
What's the worst concert you went to? I've put Oingo Boingo out of my mind; Not worst, but most disappointing: Simon and Garfunkel. Simon couldn't have made it any more clear that he didn't want to be there, and the whole thing was just uncomfortable.
What concert was better than you expected? Paul McCartney, Barry Manilow (more on that later)
What performer/band did you see that will never perform again (break up or death)? Can't think of any.
Hmm, let's see, other interesting moments...
Oh, Barry Manilow. My wife is quite the fanilow and we've seen him four times. His standard line during a concert: "Yeah, I know, you men got dragged along. But trust me, you're gonna be thanking me in the morning. You'll be writing me thank you notes..." We went backstage and met him once. My wife flirted with him, but I got the impression that he's gay. Not sure what it was.
For the person above who mentioned U2, I've seen them. They were good, but just kind of sang there and sang. Not much of a show.
Have seen Erasure twice in Milwaukee, although I've never lived there. It just so happened that they weren't performing in a city that I was in on those tours and, coincidentally, both times, the easiest place to see them was Milwaukee.
You'd think that concerts in Las Vegas would be great, but they've been among my least favorites. They charge you twice as much for the ticket and the artists only play for half the time of a typical concert.
