At what point do we start raising our expectations for Smart? Seems like he keeps getting a free pass on here but he's shooting 33 percent.

I think he's not a point of emphasis in Brad's offense right now. But with guys like Thomas, Bradley, Turner who are all more ahead offensively, I guess I can't blame him. And when Smart does get opportunities, his streaky offense prevents him from ever getting it going.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Seriously he looked like he was playing a lot better in his new role, but has dropped off. At this point if Brad's looking at X's and O's I'm not sure why Bradley wouldn't start. I think Smart would start just because he's more physical defensively, but that solely would be the only reason I would start him over Avery Bradley.

Quite a difference between Dallas' defense, and the Nets D.

We were up 20 on them too, like a lot of teams, focus can be lost and you're playing a talented NBA team who can always find their way in an instant.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I think most people acknowledge Smart needs to improve his offensive game, specifically his shooting efficiency.

However, his impact on the game transcends offense with his defensive tenacity as well as his crazy advanced metrics.

Thing is he's doing all the things we wanted him to do, driving to the basket and making plays. (Less of the latter maybe because he's being forced to play off-ball a lot in the current rotation.)

The shots just aren't going down. If he was shooting even as well as he did last season, we'd be talking about how his offensive game has made a leap.

he was never a great offense player... so you need to temper your expectations. With someone like Bradley it is absolutely refreshing to see the offense that eluded him for his first three seasons in the league finally come together.

I think Smart would start just because he's more physical defensively, but that solely would be the only reason I would start him over Avery Bradley.

It's because CBS wants some offensive spark off the bench. If Smart came off the bench he couldn't provide that.

does it really matter who starts or not if they are both playing and producing?

Would love to see Smart hit a couple threes in the second half.

You're right to a point. I just feel like we'd have even better starts then we do now and Smart has already shown that he can play with Evan Turner handling the ball.

I know they're cruising now, but I'm going to be really interested to see how the Celtics come out in the 3rd quarter. I think they still have to learn how to play with a lead. I'd like to see them put the Nets away in the third and get some young guys some big minutes in the 4th.

I can tell just from how IT jumps if he is going to make his pull up 3 or not.  If he goes straight up in the air, he makes it like 85% of the time.  If he is leaning forward, he misses 100% of the time.
