Sat. afternoon i was looking for something good to watch, and caught a glimpse of some colleges basketball games being played. The U.Minnesota was highlighted in the group of games i was checking out.Ralph Sampson from the 80's Rockets son is a 6'11" fr.playing for coach Tubby Smith at UM has a lot of promise for the future. He also has a brother coming behind him playing in hs at the moment .I wonder if Mchale has his eye on Sampson the third for the T'Wolves future in a few yrs?

I'm just messing with you.
Always fun to hear about sports
stars' children. Except when they're
named "Walton"  ;)

I heard that too. The older is playing at Illinois, as  a walkon

Edit: It was mean for me to call the kid a mascot, sure he may never have gotten the chance to play if he wasn't mike's son, but he's worked hard and loves basketball enough to try out as a walkon at a major university, and that's way more heart for a sport than the vast majority of people out there, and he deserves props for stickin with it.

Hah... apparently his oldest is about to be a freshman at Alabama or something.   Shawn Kemp Jr.  http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/luke_winn/07/09/shawn.kemp/

More importantly, this signifies that we're right on the cusp of a momentous point in basketball history - the Golden Age of illegitimate NBA kids.  Not that the older guys didn't have any, but the bar was dramatically raised in the 90s, and with more players (no pun intended) than ever before...10 years from now the league might look like some kind of Bizarro Appalachia.  Looking forward to it.

This just made me realize something:
How much I wish that Kobe Bryant only
has daughters. Let him have 10 children
but LET THEM ALL BE GIRLS!!!

Any one else remember Jerry Schisting Kicking Ralphs Butt?
"Sampson is a sissy" was one of the top 10 all time game chants in the day.
That was a great series, Sampson was soooo soft, almost Euro like.
