I don't think the NBA analysts are naive.
They're the ones saying Tacko is an NBA player right now..

I don't really care who is the 15nth player he won't play anyway and I find Taco interesting for various reasons but I haven't read/heard anyone calling him nba ready

The guys at NBA Gametime.

Tacko looks as capable as Marjanovic.

Bigger Bobon? Sign me up!
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

What I love about this team is that I can clearly see players with defined roles putting players in positions based on their skill set.

Yabu was waived to open up a roster spot.

Celts kept Yabu for 2 seasons and he was irrelevant.

Giving that 15th roster spot to Tacko can't be worse than Yabu being the 15th man.

We don't have much experience/veteran presence on the bench. That is a concern for me.

Celts can make a move in December, January, and February.

Other than their opinions, I saw Tacko play in the summer league.

Tacko is definitely not a starter or even a player who's going to play a lot of minutes.
But there are situations where you can use him.

If your definition of NBA player is someone who could be useful just in limited situations then we agree.

But Imho this is not a nba ready player.

lower body strength is a necessity as he tends to get pushed around a bit.

Yes, what I mean is limited situations.

Also, if the Celts don't sign Tacko and make him a part of the 15-man roster, another team will steal him from the Celts.

There will be teams lining up to sign Tacko because of the hype he will generate.

Tacko is worth a chance on the team as a situational player to begin with. His role can then be expanded if he progresses.

How many of those type of players should we have on our 15 man roster do you think?
