  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Wow they are absolutely terrible.
Bargani is leading this second unit with Thomas Robinson and it's just sad.
Their defense is just atrocious.

Their starting unit will just be exhausted by the 4th quarter.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Not to get ahead of ourselves but at the end of the 3rd qtr the Nets are down 15 and the two worst plus/minus players of the game are....

Joe Johnson at -25
and
Brook Lopez at -17

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm so excited for the direction this team is heading in!  Let the Skal vs Simmons debate begin!!!

So everything is going as expected then.  Defensively we already knew they'd be a joke.

Apparently the Bulls turned the ball over 20 times but still managed to score 115 points and win by 15.

I think it's a perfect idea to consolidate our day to day hating of the nets to one convenient thread.

Wait, who hates them? I FREAKING LOVE THE NETS!!!

Why would you ever hate someone who is going to give you 3 top 5 picks in a row?!

Nets need more RHJ.  He was +16 and had some quality defense all they way around.  He needs to start and Ellington needs to go to the bench.  Without Jack playing, their PG position was a disaster so it is hard to put much stock in this game.  That said, they were fairly close until late into the 4th quarter before Chicago had a nice run to close out the game.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Yup, pretty good showing from the Nets who lost by only 15 at home to a team that was doing a back-to-back. That's very encouraging.

Well don't forget that the Bulls turned over 19 times and still managed to win by 15.

They never got much closer than 10. They don't have a line-up that can score and defend. They have no 2-way players.

If they put in RHJ in place of Ellington, Joe Johnson would become their only shooter in the starting line-up, and he's also their only well-rounded shot-creator (Larkin's pretty useless when the tempo slows down and Lopez needs others to set him up). Defense would just pack the paint.

This is why the D-Will departure kills them.  With D-Will, they could afford a guy like Markel Brown starting and bringing the energy.  With Larkin or Jack or Sloan, they need someone like Ellington or Bargnani or Bogey on the floor just to have room to operate and all of those guys lack quickness or dynamism defensively.

The Nets will give up over 108 a game this year.
