I'm skeptical anyone else is going to walk into that situation and do any better than Bud did.
All of these guys have a shelf life. We saw it here with Brad. At some point they get tuned out. To me an NBA coach's main duties involve keeping the stars happy and getting a team to play to its talent level. Both involve buy in from the key players. And it's a lot easier to move on from a coach than change out players.
San Antonio seems to have gone the opposite route - keeping Pop around - and how has that worked out?
I agree that getting a new voice in the locker room usually should happen with some regularity. Bud was in Milwaukee for 5 years. That's not a bad run. But I still believe what I said. A different coach wouldn't have kept Giannis healthy in round 1. I doubt the Bucks will look any better under anyone else next year.
As for Pop, it seems like it worked out great for San Antonio. Pop lost in the first round 3 times with the Spurs but they always stuck with him and won 5 championships over 16 years.
