To be clear, the article isnt saying this WILL be the new norm, just that it should be the new norm. But i don't see it happening. Every other year there's be a basketball tournament (Olympics, FIBA) to contend with. And usre you avoid NFL competition but then you have to compete with people actually wanting to be out of there house during the summer months. I don't know if this actually makes that much sense.

This would mean no more Celtics on my birthday (mid-October), which I don't like.

But for real this does seem like a reasonable idea.  Summer is such a deadzone for sports right now.
You should start watching Australian sports like Aussie Rules Football ;D
