Per Woj, NOP is hiring David Griffin to run their basketball operations.  Very nice hire for them.

Yeah, good hire.

Here’s the interesting twist. Several months back on NBATV when discussing what he would want in an AD trade, Griffin said that he would want abd shoot for:
1) 1 young player with star potential;
2) several draft picks; and
3) an elite role player or two to help during the rebuild.

Hmm, sounds like a Celtics package would be right up Griffin’s alley!

For a rental? No thanks. If you could do it with just 1 of Brown/Tatum + Williams + Picks, sure. Or one of Tatum/Brown + Rozier (S&T) + Picks. NOT 2 of Tatum/Brown/Smart in addition to everything else.

I think it is actually impossible for the Lakers to get Davis now. The clots and injuries to ball and Ingram were a death knell.

Bill Simmons said he thinks the LAC has the best package.  Agree?

LOL Simmons has become delusional living in LA for too long. Our picks and players are much better than theirs. Heck, we have their pick in this very draft.

Unprotected Miami pick.  SGA.  Harrell. Gallanari contract.

I dunno,  plus Davis wants California.   Tatums shine has faded a bit.

SGA, Shamet, Harrell, a MIA pick (when was the last time MIA tanked?) and cap relief is supposed to be better than 4 1st round picks including a probable top 10 pick and Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown?

Yeah, okay.

Bill's at the point in his career where he just says stuff because he feels it, he doesn't seem to really think about this stuff anymore.  He sure as shooting doesn't write anything of substance anymore.

He seems to have more passion for recapping summer blockbusters from 10-20 years ago than he does for basketball analysis, anyway.

I think Clips will be happy landing Leonard. And keeping their role players.

Since Griffin has history with Rich Paul, I wonder if this doesn't mean there is a possibility that Davis stays with the Pels. I'm sure Griffin will try to make a case for it. Right now, the Lakers are a much bigger mess than the Pels.

Maybe New Orleans calls the Lakers to see if they have the parts to trade for Lebron now. Try to pair up Davis, LeBron and Jrue in New Orleans.😁

It actually makes more sense that way.
