Via sources: TNT will no longer air the Players Only NBA broadcast. Turner Sports will likely do some Players Only content but as far as games for the 2019-20 season, the Players Only broadcast on TNT is no more.

Thank God.

The majority of those telecasts were horrible.

Good news for sure. Very few weren’t awful to listen to.

Now they need to pull Reggie Miller off TNT altogether.

They really were terrible. It's cool to see former players involved in some capacity. But most of them are just not up to the standard of a national telecast. They need the broadcast pros to guide the ship.

I could see players only used for games no one wanted to watch anyway. But they legit had games I really wanted to watch and had to sit through terrible broadcast.

Great.

It was dreadful.

And no more of that box optic I hope. Even worse.

Reggie Miller is terrible

tbh they are all pretty bad. Doris Burke, JVG, Mark Jackson  etc.

Jay Bilas is good and so was Steve Kerr

If the Players Only Broadcast was done by Shaq, Charles and Kenny from the studio and only them doing it, that would be cool. But with the way TNT is doing it, with the players they are doing it with, yeah, it's a good thing to get rid of.

I like listening to Doris Burke. She's a little Americany(sucking up), but she's insightful and really knows the players' games.

Great news.

I'd rather listen to a solo play-by-play announcer than have to listen to those players-only broadcasts. I hope this means that the announcers will actually be at the game again also.
