I'm sold on Kabengele. If he's there at 14 I may throw something at the TV is DA doesn't pick him. Not sure anyone else I like will drop. There's only a few out there anyways. Get a shooter with the next pick.
Would rather select Bitadze, he's younger and just as solid from the get go.
They're very different, but I like them both. Kabengele is longer, more athletic and better from deep. Bitadze is younger, better inside and likely has more room to grow (as in literally).

Maybe we can snag both!
Yeah, that would great as well lol
My fear is that if we pass on Goga at 14 then San Antonio will 100% take him at 19 :(

My dream is to somehow end up with Kabengele, Alexander-Walker, Bitadze / Grant Williams and Jalen Lecque
Absolutely, I feel that the Spurs love his profile. He's good enough to warrant being picked at #14 though, I think we should do it if he's available at #14. And I like Lecque as well, he has very interesting physical attributes for a PG.
Yeah, especially with Baynes' durability seeming to be waning and Horford getting old. Considering Lecque is projected to be available (by some) where we take our 2nd rounder I really hope we take a flyer on him. Freakish athleticism
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Many mocks have Bruno Fernando dropped to late in the first round. My simple question is: why?

From what I have seen from Fernando he looks like the most safe option to pick if you're looking for a starting caliber center.
Is it just that he doesn't have a skill that blows you away?

Bruno Fernando is a terrific rebounder, NBA-body, good athlete for his size, a rim protector, good post defender, potential switching ability, decent passer, excellent free throw shooter, developable jumpshot, strong finisher at the rim, willing screen setter, good motor, shown willingness to work on his game.

He's so allround that I believe he should be picked in the top 10 of the draft. If Fernando is available at #14 and the Celtics pick him I might wake up my neighbours.

I'm convinced that if we have Fernando and Williams that our center problem is solved for a decade.

Love Fernando, not sure why he is dropping. He has been top 10 all along, and when I looked at mocks this morning for the first time in a week or more, there he is, pushing pick 20.

No way Dany lets him go past him at 14. no way.

everything about this kid screams that he is hungry. Very Siakim like.

He can start right away in the NBA, moves Al to the 4.

Also really like Samanic.

I would love to see the following

14 - Fernando
20-Tybulle or Okpala
22 - traded with Yabusele for Frank Nkitilina
51 - Lecque

Resign Morris
MLE on Ross, Lamb or Mathews
BAE on Dudley

Smart/Frank/Lecque
Brown/Ross/Thybulle
Tatum/Hayward/Semi
Horford/Morris/Dudley
Fernando/Baynes/Williams

Team might be a little weak at point, but I expect Smart to be able to slide into that slot easily enough, especially with Horford helping out. Hayward runs point duties off the bench.

We have a hole at PF, and it would be best if got a Day 1 contributor at that position.  Accordingly, I’m all for Brandon Clarke, I don’t care if he’s short and has stumpy arms relative to NBA bigs.  He can get the job done.

NOoooooo.

Completely disagree.

Fernando is an Elite Athlete. Elite.
Very long, very bouncy, great form on his jumper with a quick trigger, Range out to NBA 3 easily. great rebounding instincts.

Fernando has a higher ceiling than Goga based on physical profile alone.

not saying I would hate the Goga pick, I think he will be a solid pro. Not stellar, but solid. but I do think that some of what makes Goga good is replications of what Al does. Bruno is a better fit beside Al, imo.

I dunno about this. This kind of thinking is what leads to Adreian Payne ahead of Jusuf Nurkic. Ceiling isn't only determined by physical profile.

TP, good to have an ally  :D. Didn't mention it, since there's no proof for it, but I also believe that Fernando can develop NBA 3-point-range.

We have three centers on the roster, including a high-ceiling defensive prospect.  We have a part-time PF (Horford) and Yabusele.  Morris is probably not coming back for a variety of reasons.  Clarke should be the pick if he’s on the board.  Picks 20 and 22 can then be boom or bust selections.

Agreed, was a reach to my point to state that.

But he is incredibly athletically elite.

Goga is no slouch, honestly drafting him wouldn't be the end of it all. He has the higher floor for certain. I firmly believe that Bruno has the higher ceiling though, and one of the reasons I believe that is due to his physical abilities. another is his story, his drive is mostly unmatched, he has KG level drive and determination. He is incredibly coach-able and has improved dramatically already in his "career"

Goga has been playing professionally since 2015, he has had alot more opportunity to grow and improve and learn than Bruno. I think we are seeing close to the top from Goga that we will ever see.

Why not?

Morris really likes Boston, if they offer him the money, he will stay. If not there are many others available at MLE level.

Yeah I’m starting to come to this view as well.
