What are your thoughts on Gerald Henderson? I know he was great at Duke but I haven't watched many Bobcats games to know how good he is.
Ken Berger reported that we may have interest in him, that or he is just speculating, can't tell.
"Ken Berger @KBergCBS
Boston's signing of Terrence Williams has not ended their pursuit of a trade for a guard. Charlotte's Gerald Henderson is one possibility."
I think if we could deal Courney Lee for Derrick Williams and deal Bass for Henderson that wouldn't be an awful trade deadline.

Had heard that Charlotte was willing to deal GH for a 1st rounder.
Obviously, Celtics would have to send out some money to make it work.

I really like henderson , very athletic, good defender , can attack the rim and decent shooter.

Do you think he's worth a first? I would give them a first and Bass for Mullens and Henderson but no way they do that.
-
Would Henderson for melo and 2nd rounder work?
-
G.Henderson and A.Bradley remind me of one another for some reason.
Very good defensively. Solid size at 6-5 with legitimate strength. Excellent lateral quickness. Rebounds well.
Offensively, he has a below average skill-set. He lacks range on his jump-shot. His ball-handling and passing are both limited. A good slasher / cutter. He has a passable to solid two point jump shot. He is forced to take too many shots in Charlotte though. Should take fewer jump shots, more of a low usage offensive threat.

The Bobcats confuse the bleep outta me. I thought this kid was one of Jordan's binkies...a building block.
Then they go ahead and sign Ben Gordon and muttle things up at the 2 for themselves. They've been jerking both Gordon and Henderson around with playing time - they need to deal one of them.
-
Shoots too much (from what I saw with him in Bobcatland)
Don't want.
-
Would Henderson for melo and 2nd rounder work?
No, need more outgoing salary. Would have to add two of the expiring deals of Wilcox/Barbosa/Collins to Melo to match salaries.

He has actually shot the three ball well this year, although he doesn't take many of them.
He's a solid starting SG. Too bad Charlotte can't get out of their own way, because they have some pieces there.

I'd love it and welcome him back with open arms! Remember when he stole Worthy's pass? That was awesome!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
I'm biased about Henderson since he always seems to give us some trouble, don't have an objective opinion on him.
-
Another guard? The idea makes me ::) and >:(
Seriously, are Doc and Danny trying to take small ball to new lows? What's next? Bass at center?
Oh, wait ...

Oh, wait ...
We've actually been playing BIG ball at times with Pierce/Green on at the same time
-
Henderson gets paid a bit, so that might sour some on trading for him. Re: the Bobcats' direction under MJ...no surprise. He's a terrible human being, and has no idea how to run a team, so I'm glad to see them doing so poorly.

What do you mean? We currently have only 3 true guards on our active roster (Lee, Bradley, and Terry). 4 if you want to include Williams. PP is not a guard any more, doesn't have the lateral quickness at all..
I would like to see another big though...
-
Melo & a 1st for Henderson & Biyombo? I'll try that! And if they want Bass be my guest.
-
I like Henderson. Always seems like a scrappy player everytime the Celts play Charlotte.
You could certainly do alot worse than him. With Barbosa out, the Celts need an "energy" guy off the bench.
-

That would be a huge steal imo. Biyombo is good young man

In other news, Celtics interested in trading for Mini-Me and Tattoo from Fantasy Island
-
Would Henderson for melo and 2nd rounder work?
Nope, Henderson is making $3 million. We need more than Melo to make it work (Melo + Bradley is one example, Melo + any two of Barbosa/Collins/Wilcox is another).

Not sure if the link will work, but Henderson and Jeff Taylor for Barbosa, Fab, and Collins works.

Charlotte wants to dump Henderson, not to give away their second-best rookie for nothing.

I'm including Williams, so 4. Combine this with the fact that Doc seems to prefer basketball players who are less than 6-10, and it just begs the question further:
WHY NO BIGS???
-
change him for lee in a three team trade (memphis or minny).

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hendege02.html (http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hendege02.html)
13 ppg and 40% 3pt this year and 15 ppg and over 4 rpg last year. He shoots about 45% from the field for his career. I get that he isn't the next Kobe, but he is a very good young defender and has decent offensive skills. If all you are giving up is a first, I don't know why you don't do it - he is productive, still quite young, and you could only hope for someone like him in the mid-late first round
-
I'm curious though, didn't they want to move Ben Gordon instead, because he was being a punk?
-

Depending on how many first rounders we'd have to give up in those deals.

They have wanted to move Gerald Henderson since the summer. His contract expires this summer and they don't want to pay him what he'll command on the open market.
Trying to get an asset for him rather than lose him for nothing.

Interesting.
I'd love to have Henderson, since I think not having enough big guards hurts us, but will they take Melo + Barbosa + Collins + pick(s)?
And how are we going to shore up the big man rotation. Collins is hardly a world-beater, but I'm skeptical about the possibilities of picking up any NBA-caliber rotation capable big man and teaching him how to play in our system quickly enough so that he can be useful this season.
-

Nobody is taking Ben Gordon's $12+ million dollar salary!
As for Henderson, I'd trade them Lee and our 1st for Henderson and Mullens. Henderson could do most (if not all) of what Lee is doing and we really do need some height. Mullens isn't a world beater, but he is young and tall and is actually capable of playing 15 minutes of NBA ball without falling down and hurting himself.
-

You're kidding, right? Mullens is their starting PF, and is playing out of his mind right now. He's also better than any big man not named Kevin Garnett that we've had over the last several seasons.
He's not going to be a throw-in in a deal like this.

Yeah, I'm kidding...however, I'd sure *like* for the C's to be able to pry BJ loose from Charlotte somehow.
-
Honestly? does nothing to make us better now or in the future...why bother
-
So I tried this trade on espn trade machine and it works:
Boston gets:
Gerald Henderson SG
Bismack Biyombo PF
B Mullens C
Charlotte gets:
Brandon Bass PF
Fab Melo C
L Barbosa SG
Barbosa is an expiring contract so Charlotte don't have to worry about him. Bass is signed long term and gives them a scoring PF. He can help right away. Melo is signed to a cheap rookie deal.
For Boston they get two exprings in Mullens and Henderson. They get a project big man back in Biyombo.
Mullens and Henderson probably can help this year even they turn into rentals. Biyombo compensates for losing Fab but he has a bigger cap hit.
It's kind of a wash for both teams. But i like the idea of getting Henderson. If he doesn't work out his salary goes away. Same for Mullens.

would luv this
