#CelticsTalk: Former #Celtics G Gerald Green said his preference is to re-sign with the #Nets, but won't rule out a team like the C's either

a chance of a gerald Green return? I'd take him back next year for cheap

Yeah, we can put him somewhere on the depth chart with Pierce, Green, Pietrus and whatever rookie wing we probably sign!   ;)

as long as someone reminds him Doc is still the coach, then I'm ok with it

I'd rather take Gerald back than Big Baby back!

Nets have a pretty good team if you factor in that lower level teams usually play better then they usually do vs the Celtics.

I think we have similar teams.

Williams vs Rondo, Green vs Pierce, Brooks vs Bradley, and Humphries vs KG.

Nets really should be a playoff team with their roster, I guess its the injuries that have made them a bottom feeder.

I hope they've got to the arena by now:

#CelticsTalk: Team bus for the #Celtics yet to arrive at the arena. Manhattan traffic. #itiswhatitis.

At least ray isn't playing tonight.

also, I hope this is not preparing the excuse for another night off from the vets

You called it!

Brandon Bass will play, Celtics will battle a brutal-traffic, very late arrival in Newark. C’s-Nets 7pm WRKO + guest analyst @RealMickFoley!

I'm getting a bit worried about Ray.

Sounds like your worry may be well placed:

#CelticsTalk: @SportsVentz -> No Ray Allen tonight. #Celtics Doc Rivers said he's out for the #Bobcats on Sunday, 50/50 for #Knicks Tuesday.

I know it's the NBA, but why are they staying in Manhattan for a game in Newark?

Ugh! on both counts. Hope Ray is ok for the playoffs but these things linger in old guys.

The last time the Celtics played the Nets in Newark, I had the privilege of going thanks to my college having tickets. The bad news was, the C's lost.

Hopefully we're singing a different tune tonight.

Let's watch and find out what the C's have for us tonight. Rooting for the shamrock as always.

Comeon C's lets show up and take care of business, Nets are a talented and good team so they wont be pushovers.

I've been watching the Nets since they picked up Green, and they're not as bad as their record appears. If they were healthy and had Green+Wallace all season, they're probably a 45-50 win type team.

Unfortunately they still don't have Lopez, and it looks like Wallace is out for the season now too (along with Jordan Farmar), and what's left is a team that can still score respectably but is an absolute disaster on defense. Avery Johnson has called Green his third best defender behind Deron and Wallace, and while Green has made some huge strides in that area, eh, he shouldn't be any team's best defender on the wings.

If the Celtics can take them out of their rhythm offensively, then they'll be fine. On the other hand, if they run into a hot shooting night from Green like the Sixers did last night, the Nets are entirely capable of beating a team like the Celtics.

Nets are a good team, they would be a fringe contender if they had Lopez healthy.

They are definately way better then their record shows.
