i think the red claws can sign him but he will be unable to play for the celts unless they sign him and open a roster spot
china was a place to run and experiment with his game
his shot enough threes and hustled at both ends-
he had a strength and conditioning coach

Hopefully he's with the team/affiliate soon.

Any ideas as to how/why China was his chosen destination?

Because Chinese contracts are always one year for foreign players, whereas Euro contracts in the top leagues are longer and come with buyouts.  If he'd signed a one-year deal with a decent Euro team, they probably wouldn't have played him much.

This is from a little more than a week ago but I assume it's still the case that they're going to try and bring him over to gets some reps against American players and they can get their affiliate coaches some time with him.

I'm sure they'll be able to get a better sense of just how ready (or not) he is in the D-League.

Quote
"We may see him in Portland, Maine, at some point this year," Ainge said during his weekly interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher and Rich.

That path would allow Yabusele, the 16th overall pick in June's draft, to receive reps with the Celtics D-League affiliate without starting his NBA clock.

Actually rollie, I don't think they can sign him to the Celtics at all this year. He can play in Maine but I think due to rules about stashing a player he can't play for Boston this year. Someone who knows for sure, please correct me if I am wrong.

He did roll his ankle during the playoffs.
