Today, my wife and I are getting on a plane and flying to Ireland. I'll be spending the next 3 months in County Clare, in a rural cottage with no internet. I'm bringing my Celtic hat and a Marcus Smart jersey and will be able to check on NBA news when I visit the cafe in town (I'm told).

Hopefully spending the off season in the Celtic homeland will bring luck.

That sounds like either the greatest way to spend the off-season or the worst.

It also sounds like an amazing getaway.  I've always wanted to visit Ireland.

Have a great time.  Try not to go to that cafe too frequently.

Pretty drastic measure to cope with this last season, but ok. Hope you're back in time for Anthony Davis at media day  ;)

Congrats. You'll be visiting Galway, one of my favorites.

Home of one of my favorite bands, the Saw Doctors.

The Guinness tastes so good in Ireland.

If you want to stay in a rustic cottage on the West coast sometime before September, let me know.

The way that season was, I don't think it's drastic at all. ;)

"Of the green and red of Mayo..."  LOVE the Saw Doctors!  TP!

Our son will also be spending a year abroad in Galway this year.  Looking forward to visiting him there as I have never been.

My sister's boyfriend is Irish, from Donegal. Such a beautiful country.

Awesome! I’ve spent a semester in Cork, a week on the Aran Islands,  and a summer in Dublin. It’s such an amazing country.  I’m biased, but it’s my favorite place I’ve travelled to.  It’s absolutely beautiful — pictures don’t do it justice, and the people will embrace you like one of their own.

It's been beautiful here. I'm at the local library right now, checking up on news. Most of the pubs have wifi as well.

I'm in Miltown Malbay on the west coast if anyone is in the neighborhood.  ;)

I heard the capital of Ireland is the fastest growing population in Europe. The city is Dublin.
