I said my peace last night in the Market thread so today I'll just say hell ya. Welcome to Boston JH.

This year's team is a massive upgrade over last year's roster. Looking forward to the season and what should be several years of Jrue Holiday at the point.

Do you start Jrue and D White?

Since you only have two legit bigs, I mean.

G: Jrue, Pritchard
G: D White
F: Jaylen, Hauser
F: Tatum
C: Porzingis, Horford

Am I forgetting people? That bench looks really weak.

Brissett and Stevens provide some grit and do all the little things. Probably need to sign another big.

Starting the two bigs

G: Jrue, D White
G: Jaylen
F: Tatum, Hauser
F: Horford
C: Porzingis, Kornet

The starting lineup looks pretty strong. Big. Long.

But man, Horford is never going to touch the ball in that lineup. All those other 4 guys need a lot of touches & a lot of shot attempts. Reminds me of Tim Duncan being relegated to background status after L Aldridge joined the team. Prior to that Duncan was a facilitating big man. Afterwards, he is was irrelevant on offense because Kawhi & Aldridge (iso players) were commanding so much of the ball.

I would like to see Al and KP start together with White coming off the bench.

A lot of diminished returns on offense from Jrue, Porzingis and Horford.

There is only one ball.

Tatum and Jaylen were already one of the highest usage shot-taking duos in the league.

A bit sad that we won't see D White starting at PG next season. He had an impressive year last season. I was looking forward to him as the full time PG. He deserved it.

I think Brogdon was not going to be a happy camper this season. Think the reports were probably pretty accurate.

Rob is a loss but he was going to come off the bench and was going to miss 30 plus games at some point with an injury.

Time to win a title. This move does so. Give them a guy that can defend Dame, not afraid of going to the hoop in Holiday. He has won a title.

Ball movement should be exponentially better than last season.

Have to say, Jrue is one of my all-time favorite non-Celtics, so I’m ecstatic to have him on the C’s finally. He’s a perfect 4th/5th option alongside White.

We have to be going small now and starting with White, Jrue, Brown, Tatum, and KP. No way we can put that many minutes on Al, and it also doesn’t play to our strengths.

PG: White, PP
SG: Jrue, Svi
SF: Brown, Hauser
PF: Tatum, Stevens/Brisett
C: KP, Kornet

Need another big bad. Who’s out there? Howard? Biyombo?

Obviously Brogdon wasn't happy. Hate losing Rob but he always gets hurt.

Yeah, it does feel like that was a part of this deal. They paid a heavy price for Jrue. Brogdon who was a 6th man of the year and a legit 17-20ppg 6-7apg guy as a starting PG, Timelord who is a good starting big man with injury issues, two first round picks including an unprotected one far off into the future (2029).

That is a huge price to pay for a 33yr old guard who has choked in the playoffs on a routine basis.

Why give up so much if you are not concerned about how unhappy Brogdon is behind the scenes?

Props to Brad for having the cajones to shake things up. Saw that the current team wasn’t getting things done, and he went out and took a major risk to add significant talent.

I do imagine the Brogdon situation played a major role in this.

Our back up bigs are Luke Kornet and Neemias Quetta HAHAHAHAH
Holiday/Kornet > Injured-disgruntled Brogdon/Rob.
For what Rob contributes offensively combined with his knee issues and the fact that his game relies on his jumping ability so much, solid deal. The window is now (key point) and Holiday replaces a lot of what Smart took with him. If Rob could do something more than dunk, I'd say it was too much to give up. His passing ability doesn't help the club so much the way we play.  Portland did OK though. I think Rob plays well for them.

Wow. I had the opposite reaction.

Why do you think that?

I believe it will be worse because:

(1) Porzingis is a bad passer and high volume shot taker.
(2) Horford will be relegated to background status so he will have less touches to facilitate the offense.
(3) Tatum & Jaylen are young stars who will make sure they still "get theirs".
(4) Jrue is a scoring PG rather than a true PG. A facilitating or playmaking PG.

I just see a whole bunch of hands to feed. Guys who typically look after themselves first. Not others. And the one guy who looks after others, Horford, is not relegated to the background in order to make way for more selfish players.

Brad has some big, hairy ones. I’ve always loved Jrue, but it looks like a big overpay to me. But wow, what a starting five.
