Wayne Ellington would be a really good pickup for us off the bench with his elite shooting, especially if Rozier wound up being traded.

EDIT: Just saw this mentioned in the trade deadline thread. Mods please combine. Thanks.

Perfect. Nice wing addition for depth

We are deep with Bigs so we don't need a 5th stringer

Its also good maybe we can keep Ellington next year as wing depth when morris leaves or it Tatum/brown get moved for AD

There'll be a lot of suitors, but I heard that if they can get rid of Jabari and clear a spot, they could apparently offer more than most teams as long as they are willing to pay the tax this season (which it seems they are anyways). Just have to convince him.

What?  We are loaded with wings and have a need in the frontcourt.

apparently Danny disagrees with you lol

In the new nba, wings are significantly more important than bigs

Yes, absolutely. Perfect player for us, this season and next season. I'm sure Philadelphia will be chasing him hard as well. Please get him to Boston!

Nah. We definitely need another big. Things are murky behind Al and Baynes, and they've both dealt with injury concerns this season.

unless we can get kanter, it isn't worth getting another big

I like Ellington. He's a good shooter and he excels in movement off-the-ball, working to get open. He's not just a stand in the corner catch and shoot guy.

As an aside, the contract is important too. Don't be surprised if we sign him, or another buyout guy, to a 2 year deal for the full MLE. The second year will be non-guaranteed and will be used as outgoing salary to acquire Davis.

We need a bigman.

Hope we get Vucevic before deadline.

Vuc and ellington would be nicer.

Starting lineup
Irving
Brown
Tatum
Horford
Vucevic

Bench
Smart
Ellington
Hayward
Morris
Baynes

I think that's part of the reason that they gave Smart that 12 million per year contract but Smart is out preforming that contract.

You can't trade for Vucevic and keep Morris with this remaining roster. But otherwise the perfect scenario.

So you would take Kanter over Vonleh?  OK.

Every time I see Ellington play, he looks great. Definitely would like to add him, but would like to add depth at one of our big positions also. Not sure what else is out there.
