The votes.  Tatum darn close to making 2nd team.

I bet there are a few voters who now feel really stupid about putting Siakam over Tatum. Yes, it's a regular season award, but still... yikes
I'm bitter.

Well-deserved for Tatum.

Could someone remind us what the salary implications are for Tatum's looming 5-year extension? Does he have to make all-NBA in back-to-back years to get the additional 5% of the cap?

It is crazy that Simmons made the list, but Embiid did not. Not a comment of who to build around, just kind of glaring.

Congrats to Tatum. Pretty special at 22.  Now, let's turn it up the rest of the series and put the NBA on notice that you want to be first team!  Go C's!

If you asked me in January, I would have said Kemba Walker was a shoo-in to make one of the teams (and I like to think he would have too, if not for the injuries catching up to him, causing him to miss a bunch of games and his performance to decline in late Jan/Feb/Mar).

But man he only got 2 total votes.  Not even close.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Siakim was good for like 15 games to start the season. That really seems like a bit of anti-Boston bias that he got in over Tatum.

It is done by position.  Embiid was 4th at center with 79 points.  I'm biased but I'd have him 3rd over Gobert.

Yeah Siakam got some benefit to his early season outburst. He looked like a top 10 player and maybe even a fringe MVP candidate (making the top 5 ballot rather than winning) during that period.

That clearly stuck out so strongly in many voter's minds that they missed how much Siakam trailed off as the season went on. He was more of a borderline call for the 3rd team (maybe top 20 rather than top 15) than a top 10 player by season's end.

Joel Embiid didn't make any of the 3 teams? Did I read that right?

I just took a look at the CBA FAQs, and it look like it only requires making an All NBA team once if it was last year (or other criteria that Tatum does not meet). However, I'm not sure if that is based off the season before he signs the extension (so, this year) or the season before the higher salary takes effect (so, next season).

I think he probably qualifies based on making it this year, but I also think that it won't matter because he'll make it next year. I think we sign him to a 5 year designated rookie extension this summer (wait, crap, it's fall already), with the 30% max either guaranteed to dependent on him meeting the criteria next season
I'm bitter.

The Center position is finally deep again at the top in the NBA. I love it! I'm a bit surprised Gobert beat him out, but AD and Jokic clearly outperformed him.

I feel like Jokic should be first team and AD second team...but AD's stat line advantage was probably a big factor. And maybe because he's a Faker
