Yes both of my grandparents from my mother's side are second generation immigrants from Norway. They came and settled in Iowa to farm in the early part of the 20th century.

There is a town in Norway where practically everyone is related to my family. I haven't been able to visit yet but I'm hoping to once I finish grad school.

Did you know that Norway used to be a
part of Denmark waaay back when? "We"
also had larger parts of Sweden so the
kingdom of Denmark was a big kingdom.
We lost Norway and the parts of Sweden
in wars, though. Now we're very small  :)

I did, my relatives are still very proud of Norway being an independent country. A grand-uncle of sorts sent me a neat book of all of their first postal stamps since he was one of  the first post-masters of the area once Norway achieved independence.
