But Joel Embiid himself as a character is unfathomable so I don't like him in general. Nice KG reference though.
I find that comment unfathomable.  Embiid is as open and straightforward as a professional athlete or really any public figure can be.  He's a breath of fresh air compared to Lebron, KD, Wade, Kawhi ...
I think he would be better served being professional like those guys and talking like those guys. His mouth is going to get him in trouble. He would be better off not coming off as a clown like Dwight Howard has most of his career.

I mean, his " Random white people" quote is rather bad. If Steven Adam's did an article and at the end he said "Thank you random black people", there would be major blowback.

I agree with this all nick. He definitely has some growing up to do, although I think he will. It's funny you mention Howard. When he was at the apex of his game he was actually kind of beloved with the super man stuff, but the act really wore thin over time

Embiid is a clown. That is not what you want from a franchise player.

I have no idea how learning from Youtube videos has anything to do with "faking it".

This is the problem with popular culture these days. It seems that making money in entertainment and sports gives the right to be quoted and published even when the statements are ridiculously stupid.

I looked up "white people shooting"?

Is this suppose to be comedy? What would the reaction be if Adam Morrison said he googled black people dunking to learn to dunk? That's just weird

Why? If the situation was reversed, would you say the same thing?

I've always liked Embiid as a player and appreciate his internet trolling.  But the comment is clearly racist, and since I got a lot of flack as the only white kid in gym growing up, I can't condone it.

There's literally nothing wrong with that comment.

Oh give me a break, Barb.

Same here, funny to see reverse racism being acceptable.
