  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Elite shot creators and dominating big men are some of the many rarities in the NBA. But what kinds of players do you think are the most common?

Be specific - as in take account their play style and role. Some examples would be quick/scorer role point guards, 3 and D wings, and undersized, high energy power forwards.

A shot creator, which is to say a player who's willing to shoot when they have the ball.

Definitely the most common type of player.

The most common guys I see are the combo guards. Not really a PG, not really a SG, not always athletic and almost always 6'2-6'3. Not always great athletes, don't have any business starting in the NBA, and you're only valuable as a cheap shot creator. You stagnate offenses and you give no effort on defense, 'cause you're kobe right?

Sorry for the rant. I'm a big believer in the passing offense v. dribbling around and don't value scorers as much as playmakers. Guys like Jerryd Bayless, Jordan Crawford and Jason Terry kill offensive flow.
"Because there are no fours." -- Antoine Walker when asked why he shoots so many threes.

"Stars. The Eskimos use them to find their way home. I use them to wish for a girlfriend."

I was about to say trigger-happy, undersized 2-guards who don't really play defense.

Really how many of them are there?

Plenty of wings shoot threes and plenty of them play defense but how many are good at both?

I'd call it a toss up between them and jump shooting big men who shouldn't be shooting jump shots.
